If you were to ask me how I got into this situation, I couldn't even fathom explaining.

I just wanted to sleep. Yet here I was, kneeled in front of the famed "Big Brother Bankotsu" the leader of the Band of Seven.

A bored expression was on my face as I gave the man a once over.

He was indeed attractive, and I'd be lying if I said otherwise, but honestly he couldn't handle me.

"What's your name?" Bankotsu asked.

"Y/n." I answered.

The faster we could get this over with the better, I've been holding back a yawn for a long ass time.

"Well, Y/n. Are you from this village? You don't look it." Bankotsu asked.

I refrained from rolling my eyes, and let out a sigh.

"No. I came here looking to get some rest." I said.

"Oh? So you weren't a resident here?" Bankotsu asked.

"Is that not what I just said?" I tilted my head.

Bankotsu let out a laugh.

"You're a funny one. You're right though, my apologies." Bankotsu said.

"What did I say that was humorous?" I mumbled, but it seemed that Bankotsu heard me.

"Your attitude. It's funny. And you're also not scared, despite knowing who we are. I like that." Bankotsu smirked.

"Renkotsu! Bring the sake! It seems we have a new friend here!" Bankotsu ordered.

"I'm confused..." I sighed.

"Welcome to the Band of Seven, Y/n." Bankotsu smirked at me.

"I don't remember giving you my consent to just recruit me." I quirked my eyebrow up.

Bankotsu only laughed.

"Oh man! I really like you! You'll make a perfect fit!" Bankotsu cackled loudly.

His brothers around him all looked at him weirdly, as if this was out of character for him.

"So...we aren't killing her?" The shortest brother asked.

Renkotsu handed Bankotsu the sake.

"No, we're not." Bankotsu said.

"Why brother?" Renkotsu asked.

"I dunno. Just don't wanna." Bankotsu shrugged. He poured me and himself a serving.

I grabbed the serving quickly and took a swig of it, I definitely needed that.

I let out a refreshed sigh as I finished the sake.

"I hope you know, drinking that meant you pledged your loyalty to the Band of Seven." Bankotsu smirked at me.

I coughed, choking on the air I breath.

"What?!" I gasped.

"It seemed you were thirsty so it was a kind gesture as well, but the point of me pouring you sake was the solidify your position in the Band of Seven." Bankotsu said, his serving showed he had also finished his sake.

"Aren't I supposed to say that aloud?" I frowned.

I then thought about it, if I were to ally with the Band of Seven, I'd be moving a lot. Meaning I wouldn't be in the same place for long. These guys were always taking new missions and jobs, so there would almost never be a moment where they're stagnant.

After thinking this whole thing over, I noticed Bankotsu was talking.

"-and of course a pledge of loyalty doesn't necessarily have to be spoken out loud. It could be silent and with actions since they speak far louder than words. Besides you've already-

"I pledge my loyalty to the Band of Seven, and to you, Bankotsu." I said, cutting him off.

That seemed to have shocked him, but he recovered by tilting his head.

"What's with the change of heart?" Bankotsu asked.

"I just wanted you to shut up, I figured that was the best way to do it. Besides, I'm exhausted, and if pledging my loyalty to you people means I can go to sleep peacefully, then fine." I said.

It was only a partial lie, I was indeed exhausted, but I had also figured out how these guys could be of use to me.

And who knows? Maybe I can derive some sort of enjoyment out of this.

Bankotsu laughed once again, and he let out a sigh as he neared me.

"I think we've struck gold finding you." Bankotsu whispered.

Before I could respond, he stood up abruptly.

"Let the woman go. She's one of us now. We should treat her like our sister, not a prisoner." Bankotsu spoke and quickly, the shorter one raced to me and untied me.

I could have just broken out of them if I had wanted to, however, I genuinely forgot they were on me.

I had then stood up.

"You can get some much needed rest, we'll be leaving tomorrow anyways, but come to the hut we're in, it's not beat up or destroyed, so you won't be cold." Bankotsu said.

The cold did not bother me as much, but I suppose I would follow along, maybe they had futons in there as well.

I didn't respond and instead I followed the seven men to the hut.

They indeed had futons, and thank god for that because the hard ground wasn't where I had in mind for rest.

"Thanks." I sighed as Renkotsu handed me my futon.

"Of course." Renkotsu smiled.

He was so blood thirsty and excited to kill me, not to mention he was rough handling the hell out of me earlier, and now he was being as nice and gentle as can be.

Jakotsu had slid next to me as I got comfortable in the futon.

"Hi, Y/n! I'm so glad you're our sister now! It's gonna be so much fun! I loved you from the moment I laid eyes on you and I can't wait to get to know you better! Oh! What weapon do you use? We have to get you a weapon so you can fight!" Jakotsu rambled.

I would've thought my eyes being closed would have given him the message, but it seemed that wasn't the case.

"Jakotsu, as excited as I am to talk with you, I am really tired, may we talk tomorrow?" I asked.

Jakotsu giggled.

"Of course, of course! Come closer let's cuddle!" Jakotsu smiled and before I could say anything he pulled me to him and wrapped his arms around me.

Jakotsu's emotions were genuine, I felt it in the very words he spoke to me. From the moment he saw me he was an advocate for keeping me alive and allowing me to join the Band of Seven.

He had no intention to kill me, and he didn't even mention it after seeing me, so I felt I could trust him...for now.

I let out a sigh, too tired to even fight back against this cuddling.

But it wasn't all that bad...
