Everyone in the Burrow could feel the tension between the Potter twins over the following days. Aurora had done her shopping with the help of Fleur. The only person who she could really talk to. The two girls had become fast friends, and Aurora was getting tired of the way the women in the family were treating her.
Harry was still not talking to her, having his two friends do his dirty business for him. Aurora had shut down Ron and Hermione, telling them she was going and it was final. Aurora expected this from Harry, he always got his friends to relay messages to her, it annoyed her that he couldn't say it to her face.
It was the day of the ball and Fleur insisted that she helped Aurora get ready. Her hair was clipped back into a low bun, some curls curtained her face and some fell out of the bun. A silver clip held her hair together.
Aurora was always proud of her hair, as it was one of her favourite features along side her eyes. Aurora was not a vain person, as she was blind to her own beauty.
Fleur stood behind her, a smile on her face. "It looks beautiful". She said softly.
Her makeup was kept minimal. Her eyes a light nude, her long lashes painted black with mascara. Her lips where a dark nude.
Her earrings and necklace matched. Both a sparkly silver. When Harry had seen the jewellery the day she was showing the girls what she had bought, he made a remark that she would fit right in.
When Aurora asked what her brother had meant, he replied saying she knew exactly what he was talking about, that silver was one half of the Slytherin colours. When he had seen her dress it ended in an argument, with him telling her that the Sorting Hat made a mistake and should have placed her in Slytherin like he originally planned.
It was her dress that Aurora was in love with. A silky emerald green. It was tight, and showed of her curves. It had a slit at the top of her thigh, showing off her long legs. Aurora felt confident in her dress, something she hadn't felt in a long time. She was not going to let her brothers stupid comments stop her from feeling that way.
"You really do look so elegant and beautiful". Fleur said. Aurora looked up at her, a smile on her face.
"Thank you for all your help. I don't know what I'd do without you". She whispered.
Fleur smiled and sat down on Aurora's bed. "Are you okay? You seem sad". She asked.
Aurora smiled at Fleur a small sigh escaping her lips. "I'm just so angry right now. I understand Harry's concerns but Blaise isn't like that at all. His family has no involvement or interest in death eaters. And I know he won't hurt me, I mean we have been friends for years now, and he's never been horrible to me. And once again Dumbledore is only talking to Harry and I feel like I've been cast aside". She answered.
"I don't know much about what's happened with Dumbledore but I can agree with your frustration. You had a bad year and you found out new things about yourself but your still the same Aurora that I know and love. And I'm happy you have a good friend like Blaise, I believe that he is good. The way you both made me feel comfortable at Hogwarts just shows that". Fleur said.
Aurora smiled at the memory of when she had bumped into Fleur, Blaise was with her as they were making their way to the library. She had joined them, and Aurora found it funny how her best friend was head over heels for the girl.
Aurora smiled at Fleur her hand reaching out. They held hands and smiled at each other. "I'm sorry for the way they have been treating you, I don't agree with it at all". She whispered.
Fleur smiled softly at Aurora, her shoulders gently sagging. "I can't control the way they act. I love Bill more than anything and I hope that one day they will realise that". She said.
The two girls talked a little more before it was time for Aurora to leave. The two walked down the stairs, Aurora taking deep breaths with each step.
The Weasley family, minus George and Fred where all in the kitchen. Hermione was sitting beside Ginny, the two girls looking up as Aurora entered.
"Wow...you look beautiful Aurora". Ginny whispered, a smile on her face.
Harry rolled his eyes looking at his sister. "So your really going through with it?" He asked.
Aurora rolled her eyes as she flattened out her dress. "Surprised your still here, I was assuming you'd be off with your mate". She replied, a glare was sent towards her brother.
Harry rolled his eyes again, storming past his sister. Harry made sure to barge into Aurora, hitting his shoulder into her. Aurora turned to look at him, grabbing one of Hermione's book, throwing it towards him.
Harry stopped still as the book hit him hard in the head. He turned slowly, shooting his twin a nasty look before storming off. Ron sighed as he stood up, following his friend. "You look nice". He muttered as he passed her.
Molly came towards Aurora, a small smile on her face. "You do look wonderful dear. Now have fun, and if you need to come straight back do so". She said.
Aurora smiled at Molly, her head nodding.
"Do you have everything you need?" She asked.
Aurora nodded and made her way to the fireplace. "I'll see you all soon". She said softly before grabbing a handful of floo powder. She muttered her destination and shut her eyes.
When she opened them she found herself in the sitting room where she had sat with Blaise a few weeks prior.
She could hear music in the distance, her hands suddenly becoming sweaty. What if it was a trap? Blaise wouldn't do something like that, he promised she would be safe.
She stepped out of the fireplace, smoothing down her dress. She was nervous, extremely nervous.
She didn't know which Slytherins would be here. Blaise would be of course and his friends. She just prayed that Millicent Bullstrode wouldn't be here.
Aurora stepped towards the doors, her hand went over the cold handle. She took a deep breath before opening it.
She stepped out into the empty hall, her feet following the music. Her eyes glanced into the packed room, looking around for a familiar face.
She finally saw it.
Blaise was sitting down at a table. He was looking around, most likely for her. His brows were furrowed as he drummed his long fingers on the table, showing how impatient he truly was.
Draco Malfoy sat beside him, looking glum. Pansy Parkinson was beside him. Daphne Greengrass sat to her left, looking elegant as ever.
The final person she saw was Theodore Nott. His back was to her, but she knew it was him from the curly hair.
The sick feeling in the pit of Aurora's stomach hit. She had two choices. Either turn back and go to the burrow and admit her defeat or walk towards the table.
She chose the latter.
