It's about time
__________________________Rider stood in front of Saber as he carried a barrel of some sort of alcohol. Saber looked confused as he stood there.
"You want to what?"
Rider, being the charismatic man he is, simply smiled. "We're going to hold a banquet for us kings!"
"I get that." Saber sighed as he put a hand on his face, "What I don't get is why you're doing this. It's just the exact opposite of what we're supposed to be doing."
Rider seemed to have an appropriate answer, "Why do we have to be enemies? I do not hate you and you do not hate me. So tonight we shall meet as mutual allies and discuss what to do with Caster. Me, you, and Archer."
"Okay, but where will this be taking place?" Saber asked as he crossed his arms and looked at the larger man. "And how do I know this isn't a ploy to eliminate me?"
"Why would I come to you under the banner of peace to just eliminate you?" Rider questioned, "Now Archer? She might, but her pride might stop her."
"Perhaps, but I can't be sure with her." Saber shook his head when he remembered his first encounter with her, "But I suppose she won't eliminate me. Maybe it's her pride or something else that's stopping her... but as I asked earlier, where will it be held?"
Rider gave Saber a look that he did not like, "How about a courtyard at the Einzbern Castle, as its most likely the most spacious and secluded area to meet."
Saber sighed as he gave Rider a tired look, "And how are you going to get Archer? She's pretty stubborn."
"Don't worry about it, just know I have an idea how."
Saber didn't like that answer, not at all. A chill went up his spine when he realized how. Before long he and Rider separated as he rematerialized in front of his Master.
He stood behind him as he told his Master of what Rider requested.
"So he wants a truce until Caster or his master is dealt with?"
"That's what he implied, yes."
"I see." Kiritsugu lit a cigarette as he stared out a window overlooking the forest around the castle. "Then we should at least comply with his offer. Caster is already a problem you and Lancer couldn't deal with."
Saber sent a glare at his master as he spoke, "Should I remind you that both me and Lancer were attempting to save the children he brought as leverage? I already made him bleed, he just seems to run away when things get harder than he planned." Kiritsugu hummed as Saber continued, "Least we should forget Lancer attempting to kill me after we saved the children, nor what Caster did to the children to make his threat clear. Besides, the wound Lancer gave me still hasn't fully healed."
"That is problematic, but that doesn't excuse your failure of eliminating Caster when you had the chance."
"Of course," Saber answer with clear venom, "But don't go blaming me for failing something I had no control over." Saber finished as he walked out the room towards the courtyard Rider most likely meant.
'The nerve of that man! Me, failing!? He's no better than me in that case! But I don't go accepting civilians as acceptable casualties! He dropped a damn building last night!' Saber yelled in his head as he slumped onto the ground and fumed.
Minutes passed before Rider appeared before him, still carrying a barrel. Saber nodded his way as he kept his arms crossed and tried to calm down. Rider punched the top of the barrel to open it and pulled out a ladle and sipped from it, testing the wine. Saber suddenly felt a presence that annoyed him to no end as a woman dressed in gold armor appeared before both of them.
