Our army's size has increased as I reasoned with Napoleon, stating Savannah is needed to remove the British. 5,000 men arrived to my camp around Savannah. But last night, a British fleet came and destroyed half of our fleet that was meant to go down the rivers. Ours were routed. It was about 1 Ship of the line, 4 Frigates, 10 Schooners, 12 Gunboats. Now there is 1 Ship of the Line, 2 Frigates 4 Schooners and 6 Gunboats. The British also landed 10,000 more men in Savannah. Their ship carrying the artillery guns was sunk, thankfully, and we still remain with upper hand. Napoleon has some sort of agent setting up a ring of Patriots in Savannah. When that happens, they will riot and the Agent will supposedly sabotage their Cannons, Ships, and smuggle their ammunition. Napoleon did not reveal the name of the Agent's name. I also decided to meet with a few Georgian residents and met a girl by the name of Elizabeth Francis. She is of high class french decent, the age of 22. Her Father, Brother, and husband died due to the war. The Father was at the age of 50 with the rank of Brigadier General, her Brother a Sergeant, and her husband a Lieutenant in the Continental Army. I was informed by my father, who was formally a Captain in the British Army, to never gain feelings for a civilian you meet while on duty. But ever since the beginning of the month I have been having meetings with her and her family. I had a small dinner in their household on the 3rd, my officers and I with her family. It ended with success, other than the fact the British tried to assault it. My men maintained control of the land, only losing 10 men. Eh. Some times I consider retiring to civilian life in Britain. This is a damn fact, all of Europe is going to be ablaze in war, and I will not be living in the middle of it. Perhaps I could invest in some land somewhere in the Lowlands of Scotland. That is more than likely never going to happen. Anyways I must be off, we are preparing for a skirmish on their convoys leaving Savannah.
