As the bell rang and the students got up from their seats with a rush of energy, Kanao gently packed up her things and put them inside her bag. She made sure that every assignment was where it was supposed to be and not at risk for getting smushed by any means. When she looked up, most of the students were gone, all but two.

"Did you want to walk home with us, Kanao?"

A sweet boy named Tanjiro asked, his sister by his side. Kanao smiled sweetly at them and nodded, getting up from her seat and lugging her bag over her shoulder. Tanjiro smiled and nodded, taking his sisters hand and walked out of the classroom in front of Kanao.

Outside the classroom was noisy and filled to the brim with students, both excited to be going home, or nervous.

"Would you mind if we stopped by Genyas practice? I need to return something to him."

Tanjiro said with a dramatic sad face, scratching the back of his head. Nezuko gave him a glare then pushed his shoulder, it was obvious they knew something Kanao didn't. She gave them an odd look and nodded, continuing to walk with them outside. All while she heard Nezuko muttering something to Tanjiro about being to obvious.

"Have you heard anything about if she's coming?"

Y/n's teammate F/n asked, wiping his forehead of sweat. Y/n shook his head, starting to feel nervous about whether or not she was coming. He had been wanting to ask Kanao the past week about going to his big game on Saturday, he had already bought her a ticket just to be sure she was able to go. They hadn't been together for more than a few weeks, but Y/n had already fallen head over heels for her in every way, he was sure all he needed to win this match was her there in the audience.

"Tanjiro's bringing her."

Genya said, looking annoyed per usual. Y/ns eyes widened as he nodded quickly, there was no getting out of it now, not unless he for some reason had to leave—but no, Y/n was not a chicken. Besides, asking her to come to one of his games wasn't like proposing to her, it was just a simple question that he asked a lot of people. Even though now he was meaning it differently.

"I'm still surprised you're friends with him."

F/n said, mocking the tall teen. Y/n spaced out their up coming argument with each other, as he always did. He had more important things on his mind to think about, and now all he could do was stand there awkwardly, his e/c eyes darting around, looking for where she might be.

Then he saw her. As beautiful as always. Kanao was talking to Nezuko, Tanjiros sister, while pinning up her hair with a pink butterfly pin. She looked in the direction of Y/n, making him almost freeze up and want to run away.

"Genya! Y/n! I uhm—brought the,"

Tanjiro tried to lie, but it looked honestly pathetic. Nezuko quickly intervened and put a hand over her brother's mouth, smiling at the boys they were now in front of.

"We brought your hoodie back, Genya!"

She said, waving a hoodie in her right hand. Genya looked at it confused, about to mention that it wasn't his hoodie, when Y/n stepped up and went in front of Kanao.

"H-hey, Kanao."

She smiled at him, a blush creeping up on her cheeks.

"Hello, Y/n."

They stared at each other awkwardly for a moment, unsure of what to say. Genya cleared his throat and shoved Y/ns back, harder than intended when Y/n had stumbled forward and looked back annoyed. Genya waved his hand, prompting Y/n to ask his question.

"Kanao, I've, uhm—I've been wanting to ask you something."

Y/n said, his face unbearably hot from both the sun shining on his face and embarrassment. He had been known as the 'cool' guy by almost everyone he knew, so the idea that the words weren't coming to his mind and his face was sweating just standing in front of Kanao, that was enough to make him want to die.

"What is it?"

Kanao had a gorgeous curious face on, slightly tilting her head to the side without realizing it. Y/n smiled bashfully and looked over to his teammates out of the corner of his eye, looking for some sort of encouragement.

"I wanted to, ask—if you, maybe—"

Y/n felt a slap on his back, making him jump and look behind him to the culprit. Genya stood there with an angry look, his nonexistent eyebrows furrowing down into his eyes. Genya didn't need to say 'spit it out!' For Y/n to know that's what he was meaning.

Kanao had a surprised look on her face when Y/n turned around, but he quickly flashed her a smile to let her know he was alright. Her face calmed, going back to inquisitive rather than worried.

"I was wondering if you wanted to come to my s/a game this Saturday."

Y/n quickly fished around in his pocket for the ticket he had bought, along with an extra one just incase she wanted to invite someone. Kanao looked at the tickets with wide eyes, reaching her hand out to gently take them.

"T-the extra one is for someone you want to go with! You know—"

"Thank you."

Kanao mumbled, a pink blush across her cheeks. She smiled warmly and gently put them into her skirt pocket, making sure there was no wrinkles or tears.

"I'll be there."

She said softly. Y/n nodded, grinning widely, his face red and hot.

"I'll see you there!"
