Giyuu peered around at the people crowding the street. He hadn't seen so many sword smiths in one place before, they all seemingly making food for each other and conversating before a long day of work. The Water Hashira had been invited to eat by one of them, Y/n. A very expressive man with h/l h/c hair. He had come up to Giyuu and bowed his head so low he almost hit the floor, quickly spewing out the question of whether Giyuu wanted to have breakfast with him or not the next day.
Giyuu had agreed, rather surprised that someone would want to. Y/n had gratefully shook his hand and went back to work, feeling his own demon slayer's eyes in the back of his head. He had to remake someone's sword, which they had broken from a recent battle—as angry as Y/n was, he remind calm with the promise of meeting the brooding Hashira the next day.
"I hope you weren't wait too long! I had to finish polishing one of my demon slayers swords!"
Y/n's charming voice rang from behind Giyuu, making him turn around in search for the unique looking mask that Y/n wore. The h/c man stood proud, having two neatly wrapped boxes in his hands; one wrapped in a blue spotted cloth, the other wrapped in a f/c striped cloth. He held them up, making Giyuu look at them.
"I made them myself. Everyone always compliments me on my cooking, i hope it's up to your standards."
Giyuu felt a sting hit his heart. Standards? Giyuu would hardly think he had high standards, but he supposed to the minds of those around him, he did.
"I'm sure they're fine."
Y/n hummed and lowered the boxes down, nodding.
"I'd hope so. I would hate to have you waste your breakfast with something you didn't enjoy, but if you don't like it—i can always make you something else."
Giyuu nodded, finding that Y/n left no room for an argument. He watched as the sword smith walked past him, becking for him to follow. Y/n walked until he stopped at a large pile of rocks far aways from the village, he pointed to the rocks and turned to face Giyuu.
"I figured you liked somewhere secluded, over here is where I like to eat sometimes. You can hear the birds too."
Giyuu smiled a little. He hadn't had someone so passionate about sitting with him other than Mitsuri, and even she didn't give off the same energy as this man. Y/n sat down and laid the boxes on a smaller rock in front of them, opening his and inviting the Water Hashira to come and open his own.
"Thank you, for inviting me."
Giyuu mumbled, taking his place beside the swords smith. Y/n smiled underneath his mask and nodded, gently taking the covering for his face and lifting it only above his mouth. He grinned at Giyuu.
"Strange no one had invited you before."
Giyuu looked down to his food, humming sadly. It seemed no one really wanted to invite him to have meals, other than the ones they would all have after a meeting, even then, he knew that most of them did not want his presence around. No matter. Right now, sitting in front of Giyuu was a man who did want his presence.
"If you don't mind me asking, Giyuu, but would you like to do this more often? Meeting I mean."
"Often?"
It seemed foreign to be asked that, especially coming from someone Giyuu hardly met before. He recalled meeting Y/n a few times before, speaking with him once about needing his sword adjusted at the handle, having it grown too painful for him to pickup with an injury he had before. His usual sword smith had requested Y/n in a panic, saying that he didn't have nearly enough time with some other swords needing his aid.
"Yes. I mean, when you come for a touch up or a fix on your sword."
Giyuu stayed silent, sending a wave of panic down the sword smiths spine. He cleared his throat and quickly intervened his own thinking.
"I hope you don't think badly of me now! Many of the others way in very forward with my thinking—and I'm very sorry if I—."
"I wouldn't mind."
Giyuu answered, picking up the egg with his chopsticks, sticking it into his mouth. Y/n huffed and laugh and nodded, quickly shoving his own piece of egg into his mouth, silently cheering for his accomplish.
