Vance hadn't shown up to school for three days now. Bruce was getting slightly worried even if he's only known him for a bit.

Robin and Finney said that he was being weird on Saturday and hadn't heard or seen him since.

What if he had gotten into trouble. What if he was kidnapped on the way home or even worse murdered. There had been nothing to say He was missing. Maybe he was fine. Or maybe people didn't care.

Bruce was currently in his room, staring at the ceiling and considering texting Vance. Maybe he would answer this time, and Bruce's thoughts would be put to rest.

Vance

Me: Heyyy

------------------------------------------------------------

Bruce scrolls on Instagram and tik tok for a bit, waiting for a reply, which never comes. What did he expect.

"Bruce, dinner!" His mum calls from downstairs in a sing-song tone.

He sighs and shuts off his phone, placing it on his nightstand.

"Coming!" He replies.

He walks down to the dining room and sits at his designated seat next to his little sister Amy.

Throughout dinner, Bruce was almost silent. His mum decided to comment on it.

"Bruce. Is everything ok? Girl trouble?"

Bruce lightly laughs.
"No, I'm fine."

"You sure, honey? You're really quiet today." She was worried for him as she always was.

"I'm fine, promise."

He goes to his room and checks his phone one more time and was disappointed to see still no messages from Vance.

The next day after school, Bruce decided to have a look around for Vance.

The first place he checked was the grab n' go.

He had heard from people that he would hang out there and play on the vintage pinball machine.

The bell chimed as he walked in. The pinball machine stood proudly against the wall but with no Vance.

There was a girl at the counter. Maybe she knew where he was.

She was tall and quite pretty. She had silky straight brown hair that was slicked into a tight ponytail. Her eyes matched her hair colour.

"Uh, hi." Bruce awkwardly says.

"Hi, how can I help?" She smiles sweetly.

"Have you seen Vance Hopper anywhere? I heard he comes here a lot."

"Who's asking?" She asks. Sizing him up.

"Bruce yamada. I'm a friend from school."

"Oh, ok. I haven't seen him in a few days. Sorry." She replies truthfully.

"No worries, thanks."

A/n: short chapter because I said so.
