Emerald's POV:
Oh my! Oh my! This is spectacular! And to think I didn't spot this sooner, it's a hard to miss building, everything here is old fashioned and some of it needs a good fresh paint over but the library really is on its last life line on the outside, windows smashed and huge holes in the wall from patches of missing bricks and the sign lopsided and peeling off to a point it sais "liry". It's wonderful, a piece of art in here, books of all genres dotted everywhere. Complete peace and quiet, a place my mind could wander in private and a place I could release all my stress in a friendly way. I don't know why it's so hard for me to tell others how I'm feeling, I don't know how to communicate properly, the situation back at the palace shows that, I hope they never find out about that, not even I'd forgive someone for that, no matter the excuses. I felt silly, three new creatures I had just met, one barely, had seen me in a vulnerable state but maybe that would make them pity me more or they'd have a laugh about it, right now I was so mesmerised by the beauty infront of me. I hadn't heard what Chestnut said, I just knew he'd left, I wanted to stay here for the rest of my life. I made my way up to the fantasy section, wondering if there were any more books linked to The Midnight Unicorn, my favourite book of all time. Aha! The Darkest Unicorn! What a delight. I picked it up very delicately with my horns that I always hated because they just got in the way that now served a purpose and found a quiet corner and huddled myself into the untouched bean bag. No one ran this place, it was deserted and decaying but that's what made it even better.

Sofi's POV:
The whole town, kind of, besides the elderly who rolled their eyes at the idea of a party, especially if I was hosting it, which I would be, had cast their votes on the type of party they would like to attend, obviously the people who had voted Midnight knew they would still attend mine despite their poor taste. I mean cmon, everyone knew my whole thing was parties, like hello?? Everyone remembered me as Sofi the crazy party planner rather than Sofi the excellent baker. "ALRIGHTY EVERYONE! WHOS READY TO GET THIS PARTY STARTEDDDDDD!" I screamed into the crowd, hopping above all the creatures in front of me to catch their attention. "Marble, cmon up here and count the votes up, no one's cheating today!" Midnight was known for honesty yes and I just wanted to make everyone happy but we needed someone smart, who didn't care about who won to count the votes fairly. I heard her muttering as she flicked 6rough all the names in each of our boxes. It was a tough one because half the town enjoyed the new life of the party I brought with me but some preferred to stick to their old ways which you know, I understood, not really but still. "32 votes for Midnight." A small crowd cheered and shook paws, claws, hooves, the whole range. Marble resumed counting, concentration painted on her small face. "31 for Sofi!" Midnight practically roared, a horsey roar, and started moon walking. "Ha take that Sofi! Always stick with what the town know best." I smiled warmly, and patted Midnight on the back, congratulating him and thanking everyone for participating. Midnight went and celebrated with the crowd that had supported him, my supporters mumbling their sorries, sorry for what though? I wasn't upset. That's when I caught a glimpse of Chestnut, pushing his way to Midnight just to be brushed off by him. I waved to catch his attention and he instantly galloped over. "Sofi! Emerald doesn't want a party but neither of you are listening." He whispered, he was lucky I was the only husky here, no one else had heard him. I couldn't believe my ears. All the signs were there, I should know this, I have a sister who hates all social events. I had ruined everything for her. My friend! "Where is she? You need to call the party off. Make an excuse, she doesn't need the humiliation." He nodded swiftly and pointed towards the "liry", huh that's strange, I'd never been there before. "Tell Midnight where we are." But I already knew, midnight had ignored what he said and had decided to carry on gloating. My only goal was to get to Emerald and give her the biggest hug and biggest apology ever!

Emeralds POV:
I'd heard the commotion outside, I'd ignore it, maybe I could run away again, I heard Midnight being a sore player, ouch, I felt bad for pretty husky. I knew her name I just decided that this was her nickname from now on. I was on page 31, a coincidence really. "Pretty husky." I half shouted into the distance, I knew she was here, I heard her paws bouncing. "EMERALD!" I flinch. "Oops sorry, Emerald! I'm so sorry I didn't notice earlier, tell me everything, I wont be mad or don't tell me anything, I understand either way." She jumped onto my back, but in slow motion, somehow, and hugged me tightly. A nice warm embrace was highly appreciated right now. I carry on reading however, knowing she'd understand I'd be ready when I decided I was ready. She got up for a split second and grabbed herself a recipe book and helped herself. She led next to me and grabbed my wing, using it as a blanket or a shield, either one and started reading, not a peep. So she did know how to shush her mush. I tucked my wing around her waist, protecting her from the cold, being cold blooded meant I rarely got cold but she was very much warm blooded and the gust of winds would make her shiver. We both resumed reading, side by side, completely unfazed.
