Vanillas POV:
I know it was petty of me to run off like this but I couldn't help but wonder if I had said or done something, I normally said the wrong thing without realising, it's the reason I'd never kept a friend before. My mother would've made such a big fuss about me being friends with the Queen, if it wasn't all in my head, but I couldn't care less what Pumpkin was, if she was a shoe shiner, a farmer or a Queen, it didn't matter, I was so happy to find another tiger even if she wasn't like me and my mother with our basic white coats. She was pushing me away but I couldn't work out why. The moon cave was just as dazzling as I had remembered, caved by tiger ancestors millions of years back, a sight to behold and bask in. I gracefully crouched down and placed a paw reluctantly into the water, I'd been in already but it felt disrespectful for me to use such a royal lake, Pumpkin had never said I couldn't come in here, I guess I'd find out. I slowly paddled my way in and the coolness hit me, it was so perfect, I start kicking my legs, powering them to wade through the water, I could feel the power surging through me, my whole body urging me to go forwards, swimming always put my mind at ease, I could get my frustration out without hurting others, my mother used to get her frustration out by taking a long walk and enjoying the landscape around us, I did miss the mountains but I would rather live down here, it was so isolated up there. I created a whirlpool of water as I swam faster, kicking my legs harder, I loved making these whirlpools, spinning in an exact circle for a few minutes. I forced myself to slow down as I heard a clunk. "Pumpkin?" I called out, I didn't know if a rock had fell or if another body had joined the cave, no answer just a snort. Someone with heavy shoes like a horses but metal? Someone who snorted like a horse as well. Chestnut did not wear his hooves down with heavy silver though, i heaved myself out, letting the water make my fur heavy as I didn't want to startle whoever was here. Glitter? Blue glitter surrounded the floor, someone had been here for a long while and I hadn't noticed, as I turned the corner a huge shadow ran past me, it was horse, definitely, then I saw the flash of a horn on the shadow and I gulped, I couldn't chase after it, it was way faster then any creature I had met, I had saw however the horn ontop the head, it was not lighting, it was real, a unicorn, I had read many tales of them when I was young, if dragons existed so did unicorns, I shivered, this was not a friendly unicorn, the tales were mixed, a beautiful pink unicorn who spread love and light but then there were the tales of the dark unicorn who spread destruction and chaos, the glitter, which I was guessing was the magic, was blue though like the pink one I had heard of and strangely, right infront of me was strands of pink and yellow hair. I knew I wasn't crazy all those months ago when I lost my mother. She was taken by a unicorn but everyone tutted at me and thought I'd suffered from PTSD. No one believed me, no one would now but they would see for themselves, either way, no matter how crazy it sounded I needed to tell her majesty and fast, we did not have much time.

Pumpkins POV:
After I had guided all the newbies to their new suites they would be living in until they decided to leave, no guard were forced to stay, I had been called to the throne room by Darlington, I hope this wasn't another lecture. As I swung the doors open, Vanilla sat, well not sat, but paced around the room whilst Darlington sat besides my throne, atleast he knew his place, I bowed my head respectively towards him and sat, chest high, no slumping with my tail tucked neatly around my front paws. Vanilla finally looked up, relief washed over her eyes, she was scared, this wasn't good. She bowed quickly and clumsily. She clearly wanted to speak but she had learned to wait for my command. "Vanilla, I have arrived, you are welcome to share your concerns when you are ready." I nodded at her and she smiled back weakly, it was lopsided not just because she was scared I could tell I had upset her earlier which were not my intentions. I wondered what could've rattled her up so much. "Thank you your highness, punish me if you may, I was taking a swim in the moon cave, I like to swim to shake off my troubles you see, I apologise sincerely if that is not allowed, I don't know how long this other figure was in there, I don't know if it was watching me or why it was there but I heard hooves clunking, not like Chestnut who wears only his rusty horseshoes, it was a horse wearing silver shoes, like a regal horse." She twitched her ears up, Darlington would usually scold her for using the moon pool, she was right, she wasn't supposed to be in there without a royal escort or my permission, being such an ancient cave, but even he realised there was bigger problems to deal with right this second. "When I heaved myself out, there was blue glitter scattered along the floor, it was fast and powerful creature, it sped past me and all I caught was a flicker of its shadow, I could've been seeing things but I swear there was a horn ontop it's head, I understand if you think I'm crazy."
"So you are suggesting a unicorn has been loitering around our palace without us knowing? A mythical creature we hear about in our tales?" Vanilla nodded vigorously at me, she was certain that's what she saw. I sigh, "I understand, we will investigate, whichever creature it was it was not welcome here." Darlington cleared his throat though, he had something to say. "Thank you for alerting us Vanilla, you may have an early night, I can understand this would be very unsettling for you, we will let you know as soon as we have any updates what it was and why it was here, I must speak with her highness now." Vanilla bowed, less clumsily this time and slowly padded through the doors which shut behind her. "Your highness, what is to say unicorns aren't real if dragons are, both are mythical, fantastic creatures, we need to keep an eye out, the tales might be more true then we realise you see."
"I get your concerns Darlington but we would've heard of them before, I won't believe it till I see it. Let's go and check the cave out shall we?" I didn't wait for a reply, I started cantering towards the cave to check it out, Darlington was close behind me though, he was just as interested as I. This figure seemed like it was out for Vanilla though, or was that just the beginning, it could be out for us all. Unicorn or not, no one was safe. A creature so fast not even a well trained guard could catch it. I had to speak to Vanilla tonight, there was more she didn't want to share.
