CHAPTER 13

"Are you sure?" he muttered, unable to hide his utter lacklustre desire for her plan. He didn't want to hide anymore. He wanted to show her off. But her points were solid and left him more than a little disgruntled. He was used to control. But control had left the window when it came to Candice.

"Yes, for now. Please Sloan," she said sadly, softly massaging the back of his neck. "For Theo," she said and his shoulders slumped in defeat. "I love you," she whispered, trying to make him feel better and his eyes darted back to her.

"I love you too baby," he murmured, growling as she turned her head so his lips pressed against her cheek. Clutching her jaw, he turned it back and kissed her desperately until his lungs burned through lack of air. She gasped the same as he, sucking in mouthfuls of air through her delicious swollen lips.

"They'll be wondering where we are," she said sadly, desire making her eyes hooded as she rubbed along his upper chest.

"Until we are next alone then," he murmured, pecking her lips and pulling her with him to the door. He opened the door slightly and then fully when the coast was clear. She pulled her hand away gently and a frown settled onto his face. "Where are you going?" He whispered as she moved away from both him and the stairs.

"I need to wash and change," she whispered, turning back one last time as she entered her room. Sloan was stood - where she had left him - with a tortured expression. He desperately wanted to kiss her but knew it wouldn't stop at that if he touched her again. Feeling silly she blew him a kiss, pleased when it tugged at his mouth. Dashing inside before she made any more foolish mistakes, she headed straight for the shower. She made sure to be quick, the steam not even having time to cloud the mirror when she stepped out. Her reflection caught her eye and jolted her to a stop. Gasping, she slapped a hand over her mouth at the sight of all the additional hickeys he'd left. Warmth pooled between her legs as she remembered just how possessively he had claimed her.

Shit, she thought. No way could she go out there with it this obvious. The secret would be out instantly. Digging into her bag, she found her foundation. It was old but it was all she had. She hesitated however, her foundationed fingers an inch from her skin. She stared at her reflection. He would be so upset, she thought sadly, nibbling her bottom lip. Shaking her head, she pressed onwards, wincing slightly as she pressed too hard. Twisting her head from side to side, she eventually gave up. The foundation was cakelike and she'd had to do her face too so it didn't look odd. It still looked odd but not in a - I need to cover a hickey - way. She played with leaving her hair down but it was still wet and she didnt want to risk it wiping away the foundation.

She dug into her clothes, still haphazard in the suitcase and searched until she found a high necked top. She chucked it, satisfied that it would cover the rest of his marks. She frowned slightly though as it wasn't exactly flattering, unable to hide an inch of fat as it stuck like a second skin. Ignoring the doubts, she tried to think of it as a good thing. Gabrielle always told her she was fat, she would never be suspicious in this top. Gabrielle wouldn't even see her as a threat. She stalled harder though when wrestled with the idea that it would make Sloan think she was fat. Make him not like her. She shook her head, trying to reassure herself that he loved her and had known her body like no-one else. One top wouldn't change that. Or so she hoped. Turning her attention to her legs, she saw they too had marks in particular to her inner thighs. Flushing, she remembered how he had said he needed to check how sweet she tasted. Her shorts were short and her dresses could blow up. She couldn't risk it. She settled for leggings. Returning to the mirror, she laughed at herself. She was practically covered from head to toe. Removing the cardigan, she hung it on the chair. Steeling herself she left the safety of the room, and headed for the lion's den. Theo greeted her enthusiastically, gesturing to the seat next to him with coco puffs and orange juice already poured. She felt eyes follow her but tried her best to just focus on thanking Theo. Yesterday, it had been just the three of them for breakfast and she could feel the shift in atmosphere.
