Camryn Quinn is finally getting what she wants...sort of. Moving into a dorm and away from her not so supportive father is a good first step, but like everything with him, it comes with strings. She must attend the college of his choosing for at lea...

A few knocks in the cadence of a song interrupts my alone time. I'm mid bite of a pizza pocket, the latest episode of a Bravo show playing on my computer screen. I'm in no shape to answer the door. And I just don't want to.
Whoever is on the other side isn't accepting my nonanswer, because they continue to knock for the next several minutes. I grumble as I climb down from my bed, letting a few choice words out as I hobble over to the door wrapped in my comforter.
"I swear to god Alyssa, I'm going to super glue your key to your hand if you forget it agai—"
But it's not Alyssa on the other side of the door.
I'm paralyzed as I take in Taylor, hands pushed deep inside the pockets of his bluejeans. He's in his usual ensemble, but this time a black bomber jacket layers over his typical gray t-shirt.
"You really have to stop showing up here unannounced... and uninvited." I begin to close the door, but Taylor simply jams his massive boot into it creating a stopper, and then shoves it back open.
"You have to stop being so sassy when you see me."
"Stop giving me a reason to be." It's practically a hiss as I collapse onto the futon, but instead of cowering, Taylor only laughs.
"Come on, Quinn! Come out and play with me." Taylor doesn't cross the threshold. Instead he speaks to me from the doorway with his arms above his head and latched onto the doorframe. The bottom of his shirt is riding up, giving me a quick peek at the line of hair trailing from his belly button down into his jeans.
I pull the comforter the rest of the way up and over my head. If I'm lucky, the universe will suffocate me for noticing.
"You know you want to," Taylor taunts.
My next words come out muffled, and Taylor's usual fine crafted patience shows a sign of weakness. He finally comes into the room, and right over to me to pluck the covers off my face.
"No one has uttered those words to me since I was eight and they wanted to play cops and robbers in the yard until dinner."
With his face inches from mine he asks, "Let me guess, you were always the cop?''
"What makes you say that?" I don't know if it's the proximity, or his woodsy scent, but within just a few breaths I find myself slipping back into that easy banter with him.
"A chance to dominate anyone? Especially with invisible handcuffs and a jail cell."
"Whoever says they don't like wielding a little power is lying," I shrug.
Taylor finally backs up and takes a seat in my desk chair. It forces me to sit up to get a better look at him. "Go ahead, make yourself at home."
"I will since someone forgot their manners today."
