"ALRIGHT BEAUTIFUL."

The nurse smiled wide, as she took in the patient she was caring for.

She sat in her usual spot in her private room, in her black rocking chair, her energy unreadable.

"Jarvis? You ready for some lunch?"

She sat silent and still, as the nurse kept her spirits up.

"Well here's what we'll do okay? Since you already ate a little breakfast, we'll hold off on the lunch, but I'll be back to bother you later....okay?"

Nodding once, this made the nurse smile as she rearranged the covers that rested across her legs.

"Alright. I'll be back to check on you sweetheart."

Exiting the room, Clover kept her gaze focused upon the TV.

Her face still felt very tight and her jaw ached a bit, but she knew this was just apart of the healing process.

Clover had survived her failed suicide attempt, leaving her face fully disfigured and permanent loss of vision in her right eye. She'd just finished her first round of many facial reconstructive surgeries and had more to go. Her place of residence for the past two in a half months had been at the hospital.

She'd lived that morning over and over while healing and she knew she wouldn't be able to ever let it go as long as she lived.

The second David had left that morning in August, Clover was lost.

She was beyond afraid and troubled, so much so, that ending it all just made more sense in that moment of fear.

So she'd shot herself.

Without much thought, she placed the gun against the right side of her face and quickly pulled the trigger, not fully realizing that she'd still be alive, just unconscious.

Had it not been for the ambulance coming when they did and finding her, she probably would of died eventually and that's what she wanted, but no.

Someone had to find her and get her help as soon as possible.

Clover wasn't expecting to survive it. In her mind, being dead was better than being on the run again while constantly looking over her shoulder, but as of lately, she was beginning to think the opposite.

Looking at herself after her first surgery, was like looking at a complete monster.

She was ugly.

Her face was uneven and oddly shaped now, due to various skin grafts and surgical reconstruction. All her hair was cut off and her jaw was now slack. She'd also lost a third of her teeth, as well as her right jaw.

She felt like she looked like a blob fish.

In addition to that, her mental health had been running amuck.

Being in the hospital left her with way too much time to think and once she finally was able to get somewhat of a clear mind, David of course invaded it.
