Tonight was the dreaded night. A date with Wesley fucking Evers.
It was the day after Tim told me so he basically gave me zero time to prepare, the hate for him was still powerful. I had curled my hair and done a cute makeup look now the most dreaded part... the outfit.
I checked the time 7:48 I was meeting Wesley at an Italian restaurant at half eight so not a lot of time. I went into my walk-in closet and immediately became slightly panicked by the absolute amount of clothes and also the lack of good outfits.
Jeans and a cardigan? too casual.
A gorgeous long dress? too fancy.
A white slip dress? too basic
A floral dress? perfect!
It took me 23 Minutes to change so I needed to get going like now but I was absolutely shitting myself over this. I sent a quick picture to Angela to get her approval and she replied
"HE'S GONNA FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU!!!"
I felt a wave of comfort in having Angela's approval. My phone buzzed again.
"If he hasn't already 😏😏😏" I rolled my eyes and put my phone in my bag, looked at myself in the mirror one last time and left.

I arrived at the restaurant a little late like 5 minutes, and went in.
"Hi, table under Bradford? I'm meeting someone" I had made Tim get the reservation and made him give me money for the dinner, if I'm going to have a shit night I will be compensated.
"Yes, right this way" The hostess said grabbing a menu and leading me to the table.
The second I saw Wesley at the table I couldn't wait to have Tim waste a favour. I sat at the table and the hostess put down the menu and walked away. Wesley looked absolutely stunned.
"What?" I asked with a little nervous giggle.
"Nothing," he said looking back to his menu.
"Tell me or I'll walk out" I threatened.
"Fine, you look pretty. Your dress is nice" he said as a light blush came over my cheeks.
"You look good too" I replied suddenly being shy. I snapped out of it because why would I be nervous over this man?
"What are you going to order Mr Lawyer?" I asked looking up from my menu and into his eyes.
"I'm not sure, maybe a pizza" he said briefly looking into my eyes, damn were they pretty.
"Split one?" I asked him.
"Sure" he replied putting down his menu and smiling at me, maybe Tim wasn't going to waste this favour?
I put down my menu and looked back at him, "So, what's your favourite colour?" I asked him.
"What?" he asked with a small laugh.
"I'm making first date conversation," I told him with a playful roll of my eyes.
"So there will be more dates?" he asked slightly raising an eyebrow.
"No," I said "Shut up and answer the question," I said catching the look he sent me.
"Yes ma'am, blue," he said. "What about you?"
"Pink" I replied, "I did have a purple phase though" I said, "but that was a little traumatic" I finished making a face.
"Well now I'm intrigued continue" he said.
"I liked pink but I had that "pink is so basic for girls" phase and decided to pick a new colour but my sister had dibs on purple so she almost beat me up over it" I told him.
"Wow that's... wow" he sounded stunned.
"It's just regular sibling things, to be honest, do you not have any?" I asked him.
"Nope, only child," he said, I jokingly winced and he asked why.
"Only children are usually spoiled brats" I informed him.
He laughed and then the waitress came over, we ordered our pizza and continued our conversation, it seemed to flow easily with Wesley.
When we finished our meal and Tim had paid the bill we walked out together.
"So can I finally get your number?" he asked as we got out of the restaurant.
"If you don't tell Tim, I don't want him to be right he's so annoying with an even bigger ego," I said as he handed me his phone to enter my number.
"What would he be right about again?" he asked teasingly.
I mumbled quietly.
"What was that?" he asked after I handed his phone back.
"That I actually enjoyed the date," I told him. "Call me?" I asked as we reached my car.
"The second I get home" he told me.
"Perfect" I said kissing his cheek and getting into my car.

The next day I was practically jumping with joy. Me and Wesley had talked for a couple of hours on the phone last night but I needed to stay less than excited so Tim wouldn't suspect anything and become unbelievably annoying, if not for me then Lucy.
I walked in and went straight to my desk keeping my head down as I passed the briefing room. I knew Tim was going to come over but I expected him to come after shift or after he had booked a criminal but nope he came directly from roll call.
"So how was your night?" he asked smugly.
"It was fine, where's Lucy?" I asked changing the subject.
"Kitbags, how was the date?" he asked much more directly.
"It was a date with Wesley Evers, shit" It hurt a little to lie, I did have fun.
"Of course, it was," He said with a smirk.
"Call him if you want," I said with all my confidence.
"I might" he said slightly realising he could be wrong.
"You should" I said going back into my files.
"Uh huh" he said standing up after leaning on my desk, "Boot let's go!" he yelled still staring me down.
