Once I realize I'm in the safety and privacy of a hotel room I make it to the bathroom and puke up all my orange juice.
I hear Jess knocking at the door. So much for a good start.

I splash cold water on my face, trying to get the dizziness to go away. Jess gave up trying to knock on the door a while ago.
I groan taking in a handful of water. I lean in the sink for support and for the first time since I got off the plane, take in my surroundings. The modern sleek tiles of the bathroom make the natural lighting coming from the window reflect beautifully.
I do my best to straighten up and calm the nausea. Walking to the door makes me have to acknowledge the headache. I finally walked out after finding the strength to twist the doorknob open, which seemed like a lot to me right now.
"How do you feel?" Jess asks concerned. She has her dirty blonde hair in a bun and green eyes. Her skin seems s bit over-tanned, though.
"Like shit" I groan walking over to the window balcony of our hotel room. The room itself is spacious and has two beds. It has similar vibes to the bathroom with a lot of natural light coming in. "Sorry," I quickly apologize for my bluntness and take in the view from the balcony.
"It's okay." Jess laughs as sounds like she's getting farther away. "Well, I'll be back. I need to meet up with the rest of the team"
"Kay" I lean on the railings of the balcony. It smells nice and there's a warm breeze. The sea looks like a bright, beautiful turquoise.
"Sure wish I didn't feel like ass right now," I murmur to myself. I turn and see my luggage. I smile and go to open it. Finally. All my clothes.
I take some medicine and it makes my headache calm a bit. Jess comes back.
"Hey Y/n, do you feel well enough to go to dinner later? The whole team is going tonight.." She starts looking in her own luggage.
"What time" I ask.
"Around 6, so we can watch the sunset," she takes out a blue dress from her suitcase. "It's supposedly the best in Cancun, so wear something nice if you feel up to it." She shrugs.
I nod and look down at my luggage. They're all so pretty I can't pick. I decide to close my eyes and wear whatever I pick out. I'm sure my head will feel better by then. I reach in and pull out a thin fabric. I open my eyes and am satisfied with what I pull out. It's a long-sleeved mini-dress with a bear black. The color of it is navy blue but it has glitter and shines in the light. Riya, you're a lifesaver.
I check the time and it's only 5 pm. I still have time. There's nothing to do until then so I place the dress on my bed and walk out. Maybe a quick walk around the hotel will make me feel better. It'll also work to get to know the place.
I walk out without Jess noticing. The halls are just as fancy as the rooms. At the end of the hall, I see the elevator and take it. I walk in and press floor one. Just as the doors were about to close, someone stopped them. My eyes dart up to see who it is.
"Sorry-" He says. It's a guy my age. He is wearing a simple grey hoodie and some shorts. He has curly brown hair and green eyes. I could see that he had a tattoo sleeve because of his rolled-up hoodie.
"It's okay.." I laugh awkwardly and nod.
After a bit of awkward silence, as the elevator made its way down, he suddenly spoke again. "Are you new around here?" He asks.
I scrunch up my face. "Isn't everyone?" I hope it's a reminder that he's asking someone this in a hotel.
He laughs and looks down, flustered. "Uh yeah— I don't know why I asked that—" he took in a deep breath before looking up. "Well, I'm Miguel."
I smile when he holds his hand out for me to shake. I shake his hand back. "I'm Y/n" It's a bit of a formal greeting but a shrug.
The elevator door opens on floor 2 and he walks out. "See ya around?" He asks, looking back at me.
     "Yup,"
The elevator door closes and I finally reach the bottom floor. I walk out and just walk around. Soon enough, I find the private beach. There are no restaurants here so I'm assuming the dinner will not be at the hotel. I walk a couple of steps and reach the beach. I take off my sandals and walk in the sand.
The sand starts to burn my feet so I make it to the water. Unlike the other beaches I've been to, the water is warm and teal. I feel a bit at peace and my headache is basically gone. Now that I'm in Cancun, so far away from everyone else, I can finally focus on Kevin.
