"It's fine-" Kevin stops mid-sentence, finally looking up at me. His jaw tightens but he smiles. "Uh- you ready?"
"Yeah-" I smile and throw my bag over my shoulder."So where are you taking me?" I ask.
"It's a surprise," he gives me that soft smile but I still pout in response. I'd rather know now.
"Why can't I know now?" I nudge him with my shoulder.
"You'll just have to be patient."
I frown but follow along. Soon enough we reached the same care he picked me up from the bar with yesterday night. "Layun let you use his car again?" I ask a bit skeptically.
Kevin nods and starts the car, "yeah, he's a good guy." He begins to drive. I watch the clouds begin to get pinker.
It doesn't take long before Kevin parks in quite a remote area, near the shore. "Where are we going?"
"Follow me, okay?" He gets out of the car and starts walking towards a dock. I squint to see clearer and see he's walking towards a yacht. My jaw drops.
Kevin follows my gaze as he slows down for me to catch up. He chuckles to himself.
"No way," I start to shake my head in disbelief. I walk a bit faster, now excited.
"Careful with your heels in the sand." Kevin reminds me. "Here— let me help." He drops down and undoes my heels. Carefully, he takes them off and holds them by the straps. "Go on, It's all yours tonight." He smiles cocking his head towards the luxurious boat.
I laugh but start to walk faster. I finally reach the dock and wait for Kevin to catch up.
"You can get on, y'know," he says.
I shake my head, "Nuh uh, we are getting on together." I cross my arms. "I'm also... kinda nervous. I've never been on one of these"
"Don't be, it'll be fine." He grabs my hand and we board the fancy boat.
I gasp at the sight. It looks brand new and extremely modern. "Is this yours?" I trace the freshly painted railing.
"Bought it a couple of days ago," he starts walking towards the complicated-looking buttons and wheel on the highest level of the boat. I follow.
"Do you know how to drive this thing? Do you even have a license?" I ask curiously.
"It should be fine as long as we don't go too far. Don't worry about it," he reassures. "Plus, Layun gave me some small lessons about how to drive this thing."
"Okay, I trust you." I smile.
"Good."
Soon enough he gets the boat running. I stare off into the sunset. We don't go too far, just enough to get a good view of the sunset. Kevin secures the boat won't move and joins me.
"Let me show you around, it's not too big." He gently grabs my hand. I don't protest and simply follow along.
He opens the door inside and I gasp. It has a bedroom with a big bed inside. It smells warm and even has a second door, which I assume is the bathroom.
"Wow, it's beautiful-"
"You deserve only the best," he starts pulling my hand forward. "Come check out the bathroom."
He opens the door to the bathroom and it's even better than the hotel. It was a bathtub and two sinks.
"Sorry to ask but— how much did this cost??" I turn to look at him. "Not nearly enough to make me worry." He says casually.
Then, he shows me the small kitchen, already stocked with food and various wine bottles.
Kevin and I decided to watch the sunset while we drank apple cider out of wine glasses. Can't believe we chickened out of wine.
"So, what are we going to do about this?" I ask.
"I don't know." He answers calmly.
"I don't think either of us has the answer to that." I watch as the sky's orange hues slowly turn a darker blue. Kevin's hand slowly traced innocent circles on my thigh.
"That's okay, I'm sure we both know how the other kinda feels... and I'm assuming that's at least a start," I notice our apple cider is running out. "I'll go get up more apple cider."
"Do you know where it is?" He asks.
"I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out." I stand up.
"They're in the cabinet on the right side of the bed."
"Not in the kitchen?" I raise and eyebrows.
"If you want I'll go get it." He offers
I shake my head, "Nah let me go get it." I make sure he stays sat and walk to the bedroom. I walk towards the cabinet and pull it open but it doesn't budge. I groan.
After struggling for a couple minutes I call out to Kevin to come and help. "Kevin!!"
He comes in quickly, "Que paso?"
I frown, "I can't open the cabinet." I'm still on my knees in front of the small door.
"That's weird.." he kneels next to me and starts yanking at the cabinet door.
We are both on the floor when he finally gets the cabinet to open. He reaches in and pulls out a bottle of apple cider.
"Oh, cool. You got it." I reach for the apple cider but he yanks it away.
"You couldn't open a simple cabinet?" He's laughing now.
I roll my eyes and reach for it again, "you only opened it after a million tries."
Kevin reaches the point where he almost stumbles back holding the apple cider away from me, I'm leaning almost on top of him, still on the floor.
"Give it-" I realize how close we are on the floor. My heart starts racing. "Sorry-" I start to get up but he pulls me onto his lips before I can stand.
"Stay-" he murmurs quickly into our kiss.
I don't argue and let myself melt into the kiss. It starts getting more intense when we sit up and he places me on the bed. I can hear my heartbeat in my ears.
