[ 3RD PERSON ]

Fear and inferiority.. Mayday remained standing over the helpless human that was sprawled out before her. Her interest within Elliot was hard to see, due to it being beneath her hard-to-miss irritated scowl. the clouds began to shift as the moon's light was no longer blocked behind clouds- the moon shun over the two, Elliot being able to fully see Mayday's stature. Elliot's fear and horror was genuine, the poor girl's mind raced with the outcomes and possibilities of how her death can turn out to be. Elliot had never seen a Giant up close before.. and now she wished it stayed like that. As Elliot struggled to stand up she began to realize something, she was in no condition to run, she's spent too much time moping in the cold that her muscles were tensed into an immovable pain.

Mayday on the other end- simply watched her struggle, something about watching Elliot struggle amused her in a way, only thing that ran through Mayday's head at the moment was 'Tiny, helpless, vulnerable' . Yet Mayday hadn't killed her yet, Something about Elliot felt.. familiar, the familiarity of that face was putting her on edge. Soon she decided something.. Mayday's eyebrows knitted together as her gaze remained upon watching the human's reaction. Her lips began to part with the cigarette being pulled out behind her ear. Her right hand reached over her shoulder, placing her fingers around her shotgun's strap pulling it forward- she reached up towards the underside of the bolt handle and turned the safety on. Finally, after 3 minutes of awkward, fear induced staring.. Mayday spoke:

" You don't have to hide fear . It's a natural reaction. "

Her Russian accented voice rumbled over Elliot. Her tone was brutish as it dripped with cruelness- Immediately, she was discouraged and felt hopeless all over again, she saw no escape her path.

" What's a tiny like you doing all the way out here..? "

That familiarity was felt too, by Elliot. Something with Mayday's voice and face triggered Elliot's fight or flight, primarily it was flight. It was beginning to get to Elliot, she didn't know what it was. Something was off about Mayday, she's never felt so helpless before.. but the truth is: she has felt this helpless. Elliot know she needed to answer that question, maybe she can stall the Giant and discourage her and ward her away from choosing to kill her. Everything was layered so horribly for her: The cold, her malnourishment, and now this. She stammered over her words as she tried to find her voice.

" I-..I'm looking for food.. Food and shelter.. "

Elliot managed to stifle out, her tone solemn and yet frantic. Albeit hard to hear- Mayday was able to hear the tone of her voice and maybe a few things she said, including her Scottish accent that tagged along with it.

The two shared a somewhat similar thought: Who the hell are they and why are they so familiar!? Mayday didn't plan on leaving until she got an answer, and Elliot? It wasn't like she could get up and leave. Elliot's mind went on to be a paranoid mess of words.. 'What is even happening anymore? If she isn't going to kill me why can't she leave me alone..?' Moreover- she tried to wrack through her memories trying to look for where and when she has seen that face, the only pieces she had from the puzzle was that her face made her feel trapped and helpless. Mayday in the meantime- hummed before deciding to ask an important question that would probably explain it all.

" You're Elliot, right? "

Mayday's question scared Elliot out of her trance- a part of her really didn't want to answer the question.. and another part of her urged her to also want answers and receive answers. She now knew who this was. She'd have to accept the fact that she was going to die in the hands of someone she thought she'd never see again. In her defeat, she nodded.

Upon seeing Elliot's tiny nod, it finally turned the final frozen cog in Mayday's memory.. this was- her human sister. Elliot knew as well, Mayday.. was her Giant sister.

Naturally a sibling reunion like this would be wholesome right? Not in this dire case. Now Mayday.. She has done rather- inexcusable stuff during her time. Taking a trip down to a lane of their memory: Elliot's biological parents died when she was only six- killed in vain, it left the young girl stranded and alone for 2 years.. that was until Mayday's parents found her, instead of killing her like any other giant would do in this era: they kept her as a pet, as some sort of twisted up f-cked up adoption. Naturally at the age of six, you wouldn't like to be kept as a pet.. so occasionally, Elliot would try to escape. Mayday on the other hand, had no care towards Elliot, but as teenager Mayday would hate to disappoint her parents, and she wasn't going to let some insignificant human pet anger her parents. At the time- it had gotten so bad to the extent Mayday soon kept Elliot in a cage, she spent 4 years behind bars and nibbling on dog food to only get finally escape in her disdain.

Now here she was, being served right back to her tormentor on a sliver platter. Elliot's eyes began to water-up, she couldn't.. take the circumstances any longer.. she's going to return to that cage.

Mayday although- also affected by the realization of her abuse long ago, began to feel guilty. Overtime after Elliot's escape, Mayday set out to be a more nicer person towards humans, but then again it wasn't like she cared much. But Elliot was only a child, and the recollection of her torment tore Mayday's insides to shreds. Mayday's parents were such horrible people, even to Mayday herself, she couldn't let that happen again.. she needs to rectify her actions, she must prove to Elliot that she has changed.

Something within Elliot told her that Mayday was going to kill her. Elliot's breathing became more rapid causing her to pant. This was bad. Elliot was so set on the fact that Mayday was going to harm her like she was that same animal in that cage. She had to get herself out of there or else, she was going to get torn apart by her sister. Again, the girl was only 12, poor little Elliot hadn't felt the wisps of warmth in months because of this weather. Tears began to fall from her eyes and Elliot used all her strength and power to not weep and sob.

Mayday's demeanor softened. She wasn't sure what she was feeling, but upon seeing the tears in Elliot's eyes she felt remorseful. In this cold snowy forest the two sisters reunited in one twisted game of fate. Elliot's eyes began to blur— soon she began to wobble in place, Elliot was slowly losing her consciousness.. and before she knew it, Elliot passed out. The girl must've fainted due to her malnourishment and fatigue.

Mayday stared down at the exhausted human-

" She.. fainted? "
