Tired

3rd pov

After 2 days of none stop nightmares Jaide decided to just not sleep. She would go into her room at her normal time, about 9, and then chug 3 mothers waiting until her brothers were in bed before going out to make coffee.

It was ideal but, nightmares are a bitch. 53 hours and counting nothing was working for her, She could feel herself getting ready to crash and had heard her brothers make a few comments about her looking tired.

"C'mon Jay, come for a nap" Casey suggests wiggling a DVD infront of her. It was one of her favourite movies she could always fall asleep to.

Shaking her head she nods towards her laptop on her lap, "need to finish the assignment first" they both knew it was a lie.

Being on holidays meant no assignments, Casey let's it go with a sigh, know when she got like this it was hard to make her sleep.

Normally after a night of nightmares she would stay awake the next night and then the following night curl up with one of her brothers, either Brax or Heath normally, and finally get some sleep. But this time she was being stubborn about it.

She stifles a yawn and continues typing, nothing she types makes sense but if her brothers aren't reading it, it was fine. Her blinks become longer between them as she begins to drift only to snap them open again. Moving her laptop to the side she gets up going to the fridge and grabs a monster from there.

Snapping it open she chugs half of it, there's a sway in her step as the caffeine hits her and wakes her up again. "Jay, really. That's like your forth today" Heath comments.

He gets a glare in return and a quiet "go fuck yourself" as she passes him to grab her computer and go back to her room. Her brothers share a look, before Heath shakes his head.

"I'm calling Brax" he says and heads to his room to make it.

Kyle glances at Casey in question "do you think it's cause he's not here" Casey shrugs. "Maybe, probably, if what is keeping her up is Luke" Kyle makes a noise in his throat in agreement.

When Jaide gets to her room she finishes the monster almost immediately. Half throwing her laptop on her bed she heads for a shower in an attempt to wake her up more.

She picks out something to wear, including a bathing suit with the possibility of going for a surf. 

After getting out of the shower she braids her hair, then curls it into a bun. She puts a quick swipe of concealer on to hide her bags then her runners on and she leaves her room.

Walking into the main lounge room, her brothers eyes all turn to her "I'm going our for a bit" it was a question it was a statement.

"Are you sure you-" Casey is cut off by her "I'm fine. I'll be back before dinner" she spins on her heal missing the whispered "She's not going to surf is she?" From Kyle to Casey.

She grabs her keys shoving them into her back pocket as she leaves. Having nowhere in mind she heads towards the park. Maybe a walk will help her.

Getting to the park she spots the tree her and Casey would always climb, they made a seat type thing about three quarters of the way up with screws they stole from Brax and other branches they found.

Jaide climbs the tree quickly settling against the trunk she watches people and their kids going by. A few spot her and comment but not many, eventually she loses focus enough to fall asleep.

The damn monster didn't work.

She wakes barely 20 minutes later to someone, probably a brother calling her. She pulls her phone out answering with a tired "what?"

"Where are you?" It's Brax.

"At the Park"

"I'm there, and I can't see you at all" Glancing around she spots him. Putting her phone in her lap she brings two fingers to her lip letting out a loud whistle.

"Really, just cause you can see me doesn't mean you have to whistle me"

Jaide laughs "look up doofus" he does and spots her almost immediately.

She hangs up as he heads towards her, She slides down onto a lower branch before jumping to another and flying off it landing in a crouch.

"Still can't believe Heath taught you that" Brax mumbles as he watches her in worry.

"I thought you were in the city with Ricky?" Jaide asks. Confusion in her voice.

"Ended it early. Apparently a certain sister of mine has been awake for -" he checks his phone for the time "almost 58 hours."

I roll my eyes "They're exaggerating. It's barely been 24 hours"

"Jaide, what day is it?"

"It's, Mon- no Tuesday!"

He shakes his head "it's Wednesday Jay. And that's enough proof, let's go home we can bring out mine and Heaths mattresses have the girls come over, even Ace and have a movie night. You need sleep"

I shake my head "no it's Tuesday! I checked my phone an hour ago it said Tuesday!"

I check it again, and he's right it's Wednesday. "Right. Are you good to walk or do you want a piggy back?" With a sigh "piggy back" I answer.

Braxs bends his knees and leans over slightly so Jaide can hop on his back and they start the walk home. About half way there he gets a call, but jaide answers it "she coming home yet?" The voice asks, it's Heath.

"Yes I'm coming home. Drag your and Brax's mattresses out and invite the girls and Ace over, he has permission, we are having a movie night"

It's silent then there's a quick "ok" and he hangs up. Jaide hangs onto Brax's phone as they start up their street, they get back quickly and the mattresses are already laid out with blankets, pillows, 4 bowls of snacks along with a tub of ice cream.

Ducking into her room she changes into pajamas, her batman singlet and shorts.

One by one Jaide's sister in laws pull up and then Ace does. Once everyone in comfortable on the mattresses, casey puts the movie he suggested to Jaide about watching earlier on. It's a favourite amongst the girls, since it had Dylan O'Brien in it.

Settling between Ace and Brax she watches the maze runner and finally, finally falls asleep, and this time. It's nightmare free
