falling asleep at movie night

The Braxton siblings do movie nights once or twice a week depending on schedule, sometimes all 5 sometimes only 2 of them.

Most of the time if it's all five, Jaide lays in-between her eldest brother Brax and youngest older brother Casey. Her two other brothers sit on either the recliners of the floor.

Other times when it's not all five and it includes Brax or Heath you can find her curled up on there lap. If it's with her youngest two older brother Casey and Kyle, she will lay against them with her feet at the end of the couch or she will end up asleep on their shoulder.

On the odd occasion, it's just her brothers one by one they will trickle off to bed when they keep dozing.

1ST TIME

This particular time Jaide is watching a movie with her eldest three brothers, curled up in between Brax and Heath. She had been sick for the last week and tonight she was in and out of the bathroom throwing up.

After coaxing her to eat a piece of toast, Brax suggested a movie night to help her sleep. They had put on her favourite movie, gotten her blanket and stuffed dog and had set her up on the couch.

Heath had claimed his spot next to her, Brax on the recliner near her feet and Kyle to the one on the other side.

A bucket with warn soapy water close by if she needed to be sick. Around 10 minutes into the movie she starts wiggling around from feeling nauseous.

Whimpering, her second eldest brother sighs reaching for the bucket just in time for her to be sick. It was enough for Kyle to start gagging.

Not realising she had gotten some on Heath, he nudges her up so he can get changed. Brax cleans the bucket and brings it back. Going to reclaim the recliner, Jaide stops him with the biggest puppy dog look ever.

She had tears running down her face, sighing he wraps her up in her blanket and sits on the couch.

Heath comes back out, sitting on the other side of her. Switching between snuggling her elder brothers she eventually falls asleep.

Once the movie is finished, Heath picks her up bringing her into his room. Coming back out for the bucket "you get her when she wakes up" he informs his elder brother.

Nodding in agreement they part ways and go to bed, Kyle having disappeared when she was sick earlier.

Heath climbs into bed, curling up with her far enough away that her temperature wouldn't affect him but close enough for her to know he's there, he finally goes to sleep.

The following morning Jaide wakes up, confused, as to why she's in Heaths bed. It wasn't often she joined her brothers in their beds, preferring her own.

She notices the bucket on the ground and winces, last night she had been sick on and off. She climbs out of bed and takes the bucket into the laundry to clean it out.

She glances at the time, it was not even 7am, she shuffles back to Heaths bed grabbing her blanket and curls up on the couch.

At somepoint she drifts off because the front door startles her, opening to reveal her eldest brother fresh back from his surf.

"How ya feeling?" He asks.

She shrugs "better" her voice still horse.

He nods heading off to shower. She looks at the time, it was nearing 8 now. She had, had another hour of sleep. Yawning she settles down and dozes on and off until Brax joins her.

Immediately claiming his shoulder as a pillow she's asleep, snoring. Heath comes out a little while later in a slight panic.

Only to breath a sigh of relief that she wasn't the one being sick in the bathroom. Which ment it was Kyle.

He groans, going to get the bucket. Doing the same thing he hands it to Kyle on his way back his room. Kyle smiles slightly in thanks.

2ND TIME

The next time Jaide fell asleep when watching a movie, she had been studying all week for her tests.

She had barely spent 5 minutes out of her room, so Saturday comes around and Casey drags her out. Well actually he throws her over his shoulder carrying her to the lounge room and dumps her on the couch. Then, he sits on her.

All of the siblings were here, with one extra being Darcy. So Casey, Jaide and Brax were on the three seater couch and Heath had moved the two seater from the second lounge room to the main one swapping it for the recliner.

He and Darcy had that and Kyle had the recliner. They all had their own snacks. Darcy had gotten movie privileges but warned not to pick barbie or a Disney Princess movie.

She had originally picked frozen, but then changed and picked lion king. Jaide had whined about not wanting to cry when mufasa dies. She was promptly shooshed and told not to give anymore spoilers.

She had rolled her eyes, sitting between her brothers annoyed at being pulled away from studying. It wasn't long before she subconsciously moved so she was leaning against Brax, feet in Casey's lap and fallen asleep.

Darcy had also fallen asleep against Heath, as the credits begin to roll, the youngest 3 Braxtons were all asleep. Brax shook his head in amusement before moving so he could carry Jaide into her room.

Kyle nudging Casey to wake up, grumbling he heads to bed. Kyle folds out the 3 seater couch making it up so Heath can put Darcy on there.

Once that's done they bid each other goodnight and go to bed. Brax comes back out turning out the last light and then goes to bed himself.

The next morning Heath wakes up to a full bed. Sister and daughter having come in during the night. Wrapping arms around them, he goes back to sleep for a bit.

When he wakes next his bed is empty. Getting up he goes to the kitchen, Darcy and Jaide are there cooking breakfast.

Glancing at them, Jaide had red eyes. It could be from not sleeping enough or crying, Darcy does too.

Darcy comes over climbing into his lap when he sits for a hug, smiling he drops a kiss to her head.

Jaide comes around and gives him a hug from behind. Look up "you ok?" He asks.

She nods "just a nightmare." She explains.

He nods understandingly, she doesn't elaborate. He shoots her a look as she comes back to finish her eggs, nodding at Darcy. He nods back, it was bad and she doesn't want to scare her.
