Ar Light Abides

The Star of the East
She doth endure
Hard industry
Sat by the shore

Against the sun
And tortured sea
The blind wind turns
Gilding the streets

Her winding fields
And verdant coasts
With crowns and shield
She guards her host

What graceful speech
Remains unheard
The Star repeats
Her masters served

Where travellers camp
By noble walls
She holds her lamp
Never to fall

Guiding gently home
Her children poor
To Yorkshire's Rome
Sat by the shore.
