"We're eating breakfast father, and before you start I was the one who insisted."

"You knew better both of you,"he said in a furious voice.

"Father, we're eating, not doing anything else. Why are you making a big scene."

"Because"-he paused and walked off he looked at me and said, "remember the deal"

Cane looked at me suspiciously.
"What deal?"

"It's something I agreed to while working here, it's not important."

"Tell me he said", his eyes sincere.

"Well, I promised not to fool around with you. At the time you were having maids in your room and your father was concerned."

" I understand," he nodded.

"I hope you're not mad, at first I thought you were a jerk, and I though it'd be easy to ignore you but you're actually a lovely person. It's not like we can do anything anyways."

"I'm not mad. I was annoyed with you at first but it seems as if you're always on my mind, I can't ignore you either, your a kind and loving person. It wouldn't be right of us to fool around anyways."

"Yeah," I said slow and unsure.

"I'll clean up you can go and rest"

"It's my job I can do it myself."

"No I want to help. Go upstairs and rest."

"Fine," I said turning around to hide the smile that was growing on my face.

I went upstairs to take a nap before I served lunch. I woke up from light taps on my door. I opened the door to see the king.

"Sorry for lashing out earlier it just I don't trust Cane around you."

"Why not?" I said defensively.

"What do you mean why not look at the mistakes he's made. He may not have been doing them recently but he will again soon,"

"I don't think he will, I mean it's not like I've been around but Cane seems to have truly changed this time."

"What do you know you've been here for what almost two months."

I bit my lip trying not to talk back, I really need this job until I save enough money to open my own bakery. Im pretty sure my ears were red too.

"You're right, I'm sorry," I said bitterly.

"Of course I am. I'll see you at lunch," he said with a fake smile.

He closed the door and I sat back on the bed and decided to just sit there silently until I could hear my heart beat.
After calming down I went downstairs to fix lunch for everyone.

I set down their plates one by one, Cane's last. He smiled sickeningly and said thank you. Our hands touched for a second and I could feel the butterflies in my stomach and my heart rate increasing. I quickly scurried out of the kitchen and put my hands into my face.

I ate my lunch and then went out to collect their plates and wash the dishes. One more meal to cook. I like my job but I'd prefer to bake and on my own accords.

4 hours later I get done with dinner but Cane wasn't there, apparently he was feeling sick but I knew he just didn't want to speak with his father. I decided to take a plate to his room. I carefully walked up the stairs since I'm clumsy.

"knock knock"
I hear nothing, so I knock again. Nothing. I decide to just open the door with my eyes closed. I see Cane on his bed lightly snoring. He looks so adorable. I set the plate on his table next to the bed.
"Wake up sleepy head," I whisper.
"Wake up" I tried for another five minutes and he's still asleep.
I leaned down to lightly tap his face. His eyes slowly opened and our eyes connected.

"Good morning," he said.

"Good morning," I rolled my eyes.
