He caressed my cheek and pressed his lips against mine. His lips were soft and sweet and tasted like mint. I kissed back. My face looked like a tomato from how red it went. He pulled away and looked at me with a smile. "I've never felt this way for a girl before," he looks at Ivy, "Will you be my girlfriend?" My heart fluttered and sped up. This can't be real. It's probably a dream. I never wanna wake up.
A hand waved in my face and I turned to see them waving a hand in my face. "Honey, Mark's trying to ask you a question." Wait so this isn't a dream? It's all real! Oh my God, oh my God.

"Yes!" His arm wrapped around me and I felt butterflies blossoming.
My head crashed onto a stiff shoulder and he apologizes before adjusting.

They smile. "Welcome to the family."

I was brought into a big bear hug and I laugh. I will miss you too, Ivy. Arms wrapped around my waist as he said goodbye and that he loved me and would text me later. I waved and nearly fell over before catching myself.
A door slammed behind me. "Honey, are you okay?" I nod as I grip the door and pull it open. "Did you have fun?"
I smiled. "I have a boyfriend." I pull the seatbelt over me.
Sammy blinks a few too many times, trying to register what she just heard. Tears ran down her face and worry filled my eyes. She never gets emotional so easy so something has to be up.
She sniffs. "I'm sorry I'm just-happy for you." The next thing I knew, I was hugging her.
"Don't worry, just because I'm dating someone doesn't mean I'll love you any less."

The buttery pastry filled my taste buds but with the smell of her coffee, it wasn't the greatest combo. Sure, I like coffee but not with a croissant. In ruins the airiness of the pastry and the butteriness. With a donut, different story, but we're not talking about a donut so this is a whole new level of no. The only thing croissants belong with is fucking chocolate, anything sweet and nothing else. If you put things like fish on it, then you have gone mad.
Fish is made to stand out on its own and so that airy pastry. That's like putting onions in a sandwich. It overpowers everything and it's all you taste. It's disgusting. Only a crazed person would do that.
We went to the bakery to celebrate I was no longer single and I was in my first relationship ever. I've never dated anyone in public school and that was back when I discovered I was a lesbian, but I guess I'm not a lesbian no more.
I was always checking out girls and I even got the courage to confess to my crush I liked her but she didn't swing that way. She was only interested in men and never seen women as anything but a friend. I never confessed my feelings since that day.

Sammy told me on the car ride home that if I ever felt pressured to do something not to do it and go at your own pace. She also had the "coitus talk" with me telling me if I was ever going to do "it" that I should wear a condom just to be safe. My face went red when she had that talk with me but thank fucking God she isn't fucking talking to me about it anymore. She's just asking questions about him and I'm answering them calmly.
She's like a sister to me and that's how my family sees her.
She worked with my adopted dad at the hospital and they've been friends ever since grade 2.
She met my adopted mom when she was working at the hospital and even outside of work when my adopted mom and adopted dad were dating.
They would often go to bars and do other adult things I don't wanna talk about.
I don't feel like throwing up when I just had a delicious croissant, and I don't feel like getting sick right now not after how good of a day I am having.
My phone rings and I look at it to see a text message from Mark.

I smile at the message.

I open the draft and realize he is listening to a love song and I bob my head to "Levitating: by Dua Lipa." It's one of my favorite songs and I really wanna go to a concert to see her one day.
