Later that night, Alex grabbed a book off his shelf. It was his old journal, where he had written entries of his health, He began to write, inspired by his love of old writers ,
"James , this is for you, and only you. I don't even truly know how to start. Just, know that its sappy as hell." He laughed through the tears waiting to fall.
" In the words of Virginia Woolf ," What I want to say is that I owe all the happiness of my life to you, you have been entirely patient and incredibly good."
Alex saw tears beginning to form against the pages.
" But James, please remember, No matter what happens to me in this life, " Ghost rules " or paranormal shit be damned, I will find you again, and I'll stay by your side till the universe itself collapses, and then some. Bonds like ours can never truly be broken, even in another multiverse I'll recognize you. I don't think I'll ever truly find words good enough to tell you how much you mean to me. "
Before he knew it, he was curled up against the wall of his studio, sobbing into his hands. He knew James probably heard, but nevertheless he continued to write.
"For the time being, regardless of my diagnosis , let's spend our lives happily, no matter how much time I have. Maybe its weeks, months, or a year. It won't matter. I'll never truly leave you, and I hope we can spend another infinity together, Bubba. I love you, I love you. Your brother, forever and always, Alex" March 25 ,2024 .
