(Relationship type: Platonic with romantic implications)

(again sorry this took so long i just kept forgetting about it and procrastinating lmao)

Holy flew over the sand-coated desert, the many eyes all over his body looking around curiously or blinking sand out. Despite not even being from the desert, Holy's sandy yellow fur blended perfectly with the sweeping sands of the desert. He had been able to catch lots of prey using his camouflage method, so he decided he might as well just stay in the area. Food is life, after all.

All of his eyes then settled on a figure below him, though his eyes couldn't see well due to all the sand blowing in. He lowered himself a little, and then recognized what it was. A Hellion Warden. "Disgusting creature." Holy hissed under his breath, his eyes staring at the blurry shadow they could barely spot through the sandstorm.

But then, an idea popped into his head. What if he decided to partake in a little bit of tomfoolery...

He dove down at the Hellion, landing right behind them. They didn't turn around. Holy grabbed their tail and yanked it. The Hellion let out an alarmed hiss, whipping around to face the prankster. But Holy quickly fluttered back into the desert sky before the Hellion could retaliate. The Hellion grumbled under their breath before turning around and continuing through the sandy wind.

Holy flew at the Hellion again, this time raking his silver claws down their back. The Hellion roared and turned around again, biting at Holy's tail, but he got away just in time. Holy laughed as the Hellion turned back around, irritated.

"Disgusting." He mumbled again, flying off.

~~~~~~~ Flashback REEEE ~~~~~~~
Holy sat on a ledge above the desert oasis, watching his mother carefully with his singular forehead eye as she drank water from the pond. Recently his mother had been teaching him how to fly, and they decided to fly to the oasis together for practice. Holy kicked his legs through the air as he patiently waited for his mother to continue refreshing herself.
He noticed a big creature creeping around behind Mom. He didn't know what it was, but it was purple with horns, and a long tail with a yellow mouth-like tip. Weirdo. Why's that guy sneaking up behind Mom?
Mom's eyes shifted to the strange creature, and she tried to leap into the air, but it was too late. The creature clamped its jaws firmly onto Mom's tail, dragging her backwards as she began to thrash helplessly. "MOM!" Holy shrieked, diving at the mean creature.
"HOLY, RUN!" Mom screeched as the creature continued dragging her away. Holy tried to claw at the creature's leg, but it was big, and his claws barely did anything to their durable scales. Another creature snapped at him, and he jumped away, turning to see more creatures that looked like the mean one that got Mom, but they were a little smaller. They charged at him and Holy dashed away, panicking.
Holy flew and flew until his wings were tired and his eye was blinded by sand. He collapsed onto a small and dune, tears streaming out of his singular eye. What was he to do now?
~~~~~~~End of Flashback~~~~~~~

Holy flew over the desert oasis, carefully fluttering down to get a drink. His eyes scanned the entire area, looking all around for threats. The coast was clear.

Holy lowered his head to the water, drinking quickly as he could. He heard footsteps behind him, and jumped away just in time before a set of jaws could reach his tail. He hissed, turning towards the creature who attempted the attack. It was a large Hellion Warden. Something seemed oddly familiar about them.

The Hellion charged, but Holy leapt over them. They stopped before they hit the wall, turning back to Holy, who tried to fly away, but was outsped by the fierce Hellion, who tackled him to the ground. I guess this is the end, huh?

"Dad, stop!" A voice called. Holy's eyes shifted to another Hellion standing nearby, who had blacker scales and was smaller than the one that was attacking him. He realized that it was the same Hellion that he was harassing earlier. And as his eyes shifted their gaze back to the larger Hellion that had him pinned, another strong realization hit him. It was the same one who had killed his mother.

Holy slashed the Hellion's neck in a fit of rage, making them stumble back. However, the Hellion rammed him again, sending him flying a little. "Dad, PLEASE!" The younger Hellion pleaded, standing between her father and Holy. Her father growled. "Why?"

"It's not right to kill innocent creatures because of your past experiences! I know what those Angelics did to us, but that doesn't mean kill all of them." She said, running over to a dazed Holy. Her father growled, turning away slowly. "Fine. I won't kill him. But once he heals, he better leave and never come back."

The young Hellion sighed, turning to Holy. "Sorry about my dad. What's your name? I'm Ebony." "I'm Holy." Holy muttered weakly, curling up into a ball. Ebony nodded, picking up Holy gently and taking him to a den. "I'm not sure if you recognized me, but sorry for attacking you earlier. I was just...angry." Ebony shrugged. "Eh, I forgive you. It didn't even hurt me anyways." Holy seemed surprised for a second, but quickly hid it.

Over the next few weeks, Ebony took care of Holy, bringing him food, helping him limp over to the oasis to get a drink, and chatting to each other about their experiences. Ebony slowly managed to gain the trust of the other Warden, and he found herself getting closer to Holy than she expected.

Eventually, Holy's wings healed and the young Warden could finally fly again. He stepped out of the den, looking off into the distance. He heard a growl behind him, and he turned to see Ebony's father standing a bit far off. "Go." He hissed. Holy nodded, spreading his wings to fly off.

"Wait!" A familiar voice yelled. Ebony ran over, standing next to Holy. "I want to come with you."

"What? But you can't fly! And why would you want to come with me, of all creatures-" Holy was interrupted by Ebony putting her tail on his mouth. "I finally got permission from my dad; I've been asking him for the past few days. I've always wanted to explore past the desert, but my dad always insisted that it was 'far too dangerous' without a companion, and he wasn't leaving the desert anytime soon. But, now I've finally found myself someone who isn't terrified of me."

'Oh- well, where do ya wanna head first?" Holy smiled, his face heating up a little.

"Hmmm...Maybe Central Rockfaces? the Jungle? Ooh, no, let's go to Flower Cove!" Ebony said excitedly, bounding ahead of the other warden.

"Aw man, I wanted to go Pride Rocks!" Holy whined. The two Wardens bantered with eachother playfully as they walked off into the distance.
