Sparkling

CHAPTER 22

"It's been three years since that incidence. Everything had changed since then. For the first time in my life I'm staying without seeing Chris. We still don't know where he is. Is he really dead?,  Was the body his?, that's the same questions everyone is asking. I'm trying to move on with my life. I can't hold on to the past. Chris is forever gone. It's time to look into the future. Who's Mara?. How is she connected to the woman I saw in my dreams?"

"Yes please. It's in two weeks. I hope you won't miss it. Thank you very much", Scarlet said as she hang up on the phone.
"Hey Jane, I didn't see you standing there. I was just informing the southern royalties about your coronation.  I want all the dignitaries from across the land to show up. It's going to be a massive event", she said

"Mmm I see.", Jane replied.
"Listen my dear", Scarlet said as she got up. "I know you're devastated about the death of the maid and her son but you shouldn't let it get the best of you. We're all sad but we keep it under control. So quit the mourning already and start looking your best", she said.

"Mum is talking like she's got no feelings. After what happened how does she expects me to be the same. Should I use this chance to ask who Mara is?. No I can't do that. It will end pretty much like all other conversations. I'll just have to do that on my own" ,Jane said to herself

"Let's celebrate my son. It seems that maid and her son are now out of the picture. There's nothing holding us back now. The princess is all yours", King RK said as he popped the champagne.
"I don't know about this dad but I'm really worried. This was a tragic event and a painful one too. Mother and son dying on the same day. The person who planned this did everything just right", prince George said.
"Those two were just not lucky they fell into such a doom. It's rather unfortunate",  King RK replied.

"Jane opened the door to the study. She sat by her dad's piano. "Oh dad I've really missed you", she cried. "Months from now, I'm going to be queen. I know you're smiling from above I wish you were here to see this", she added.

FEW WEEKS LATER

"Yes please, the coronation is exactly nine am", Scarlet said as she talked on the phone.
"Yes , I want everything to be perfect. No mistakes. I trust you'll do everything just fine. Thanks once again", she added.

"Looks like everything is going according to plan. Once Jane is crowned Queen today all our dreams will come true", King RK said.
"You mean my dream. This has been my plan all along", Scarlet replied.
"But none of this would have come true if I wasn't supporting you. You better not betray me Scarlet, it won't end well", King RK replied
"Whatever", Scarlet said as he bang the door.

Jane is sitting infront of the mirror. She's all dressed ready for her coronation.
"Hello my dear, you look beautiful", Scarlet said as she opened the door. Jane replied with a smile. "Let's get going now. Everyone is waiting for us", She said as she held her hand.

AT THE CHURCH
The church bells are toiling loudly as the birds chirped along. The atmosphere was ready for the coronation . Everyone was seated. The priest was ready behind alter. The only thing left was the princess and the Queen.

"Are you ready dear", Scarlet said as she descended the stairs. She was dressed in a long white robe withe lots of sparkling gold on it.
Jane was dressed in a similar dress but the colour was cream.
The guard opened the door and thy went out.
"Mum?, where's the carriage", Jane asked.
"Oh sorry my dear I forgot to tell you. We won't be using a carriage today. For your special day, I have made your own special transporter that will take you to the palce. You don't need to stress at all. All you have to do is to relax and in no time you'll be there. The engineers should bring it in a few minutes", Scarlet replied.

Just as she finished talking, the transporter arrived. It was like a private jet but more enhanced. Jane had never seen such a thing in her life before. It was so beautiful.

"There you go darling, let's get going", Scarlet said.

"Good morning ma'am", a voice said behind
them. They all turned slowly to see a young man in a black outfit standing behind them.
"Um.. sorry, who might you be?", Scarlet asked.
"Oh where are my manners, I forgot to introduce my self. My name is Christian, my agency is the designer of this transporter", he said.

"Oh really, Scarlet said. That's impressive
Can you start it now, we're getting late", Scarlet said.
"That's the issue ma'am, I'm sorry but the transporter won't be working until the next fifteen minutes. You see it's a new model and we need to make sure everything is intact before we try it", he added.
Jane stood there staring at him blankly like she doesn't know how to talk.
"Okay first of all, what part of my dressing makes you believe I want to be called ma'am. I'm a Queen and you should address me as such. Secondly we don't have that kind of time. We need to get there immediately", Scarlet said.
"It's okay mum, you can take the lead, I'll come as soon as it's ready", Jane replied.
"Are you sure my dear?", Scarlet asked.
"Yes mum, don't worry about me", Jane replied
"Okay then, Mr Christian or whatever your name is, make sure you bring her on time, I have to go and take care of some royal duties", Scarlet said.
"Don't worry ma'am...oh I mean your highness, everything is under control", he said.
"Good", Scarlet replied as she turned to go.

Jane stood there staring at the young man.
"Something about him didn't seem right,the way he spoke and the way I had goosebumps all of a sudden.. what's with him could it be Chris?. Of course not, Chris died right infront of me", Jane wondered.

"Is everything okay miss", he asked.
Jane finally broke out of her day dream
"Yeah... Yeah sure. I'm okay", Jane replied.
"Really...you look like you've seen a ghost", he asked.
"Of course not", Jane said as  laughed
"I don't look like I'm burnt to ashes do I", he asked
"Wait...what did he say", Jane thought.
"What do you mean you're burnt to ashes. You seem fine", Jane said trying to hide her emotions.
"Nevermind, let's get going, your Coronation awaits", He replied
