Gracie and Sadie's Gala Outfits are on the link in the summary as always if you want to see them.

....

Grace’s Point of View:

The Duck Commander gala was tonight and I was at the Robertson’s house getting ready with Sadie. I was sitting in the chair doing Sadie’s makeup while my curlers did their job in my hair. Once I was finished I sat in the chair so she could do my makeup. Her hair was naturally straight so I just put it in an infinity braid in the back and left the rest straight after I finished her makeup.

Once we took the curlers out of my hair I slipped into my dress and put on my jewelry. I pulled on my shoes before turning around to reveal myself to Sadie. She and I looked awesome; John Luke and Beau were going to die when they say us.

We walked to the staircase and I saw Korie wink at us. “Attention everyone, may I present to you: Sadie and Grace.”

I knew my cheeks were red as we made our grand entrance. I almost tripped and almost took Sadie down with me so we were laughing like idiots by the time we made it to the end of the stairs. When we looked up I saw that everyone’s eyes were on us and their chins were dropped.

I looked at John Luke and saw that his eyes were lit up with wonder. “You look so beautiful, you don’t even look real.”

I smiled before placing a kiss on his cheek and my hand in the bend of his arm. “You’re so good with words, babe.”

“That’s a Robertson man’s best trait!” Missy laughed as everyone started making their way out to the cars. “I thought you would’ve learned that by now, Gracie.”

I just nodded my head as John Luke’s quiet laughter fluttered around me. He opened the door to his pickup truck and grabbed my waist, hoisting me up into the cab. I giggled as he shut the door and walked around to the driver’s seat.

“Are you guys excited for this gala?” Sadie asked as we got on the road. “It’s going to be a bunch on business guys and gross wine.”

“It doesn’t matter as long as I’m there with you,” Beau said, taking Sadie’s hand in his and smiling giddily. “That was really corny and I’m never going to hear the end of it, am I?”

“Nope,” John Luke and I said at the same time before smiling at each other.

When we got to the Duck Commander warehouse John Luke ran around to my side of the truck and lifted me out of it again. I saw Beau helping Sadie out but not as effortlessly as John Luke, but maybe I was biased.

There was a red carpet leading into the building with actual paparazzi outside it, cameras and all. I looked at Korie with a raised eyebrow and saw her shrug. I guess the guys got a little carried away like usual and made things more grand than they should be.

“Let’s make an entrance, baby,” John Luke said, kissing the side of my head before following Jep and Jessica down the red carpet.

“Turn around and smile for us,” a man shouted.

John Luke placed a hand on my lower back and held me close, smiling for the cameras. I smiled too hoping that I was half as dazzling as he and his dimples were. By the time we made it to the end of the carpet, I had lights flashing in front of my eyes and I was sort of blind.

“I’m blinder than a stunned dear at the end of the headlights on Willie’s truck,” Si said as he walked in with Papaw Phil and Miss Kay.

I laughed before John Luke twirled me onto the dance floor. We made our way through the groups of people and seated ourselves at a table. I crossed my legs demurely and saw Sadie sit down next to me with Beau.

“This is going to be the most boring two hours of our lives,” Sadie said, laying her head on my shoulder and sighing dramatically.

“Say what you want but I’m going to dance,” I said, standing up and placing my hands on my hips. “John Luke, are you coming with me?”

He shook his head so I just shrugged and went over to Uncle Si. “Hey, do you want to go dance with me?”

“Let’s go, Jack!” he said, taking my hand and pulling me onto the dance floor. “We’ll cut a rug around all these old geezers.”

I laughed before he spun me round and placed a hand on my waist with his other clutching mine. We dance around Phil and Miss Kay, Willie and Korie, Jace and Missy, Jep and Jessica, and I saw John Luke smiling at me lovingly.

I winked at him before going back to Si. We danced for a while before my feet started getting sore and I excused myself over to John Luke, Sadie, and Beau. John Luke was talking with Reed so I slipped out the back and into the cool night air. I slipped my shoes off and walked over to the loading dock, sitting there with my feet hanging off the side.

“You’re so beautiful, Grace. I couldn’t take my eyes off of you when you were laughing out on the floor,” John Luke said, sitting down next to me.

“I came here to dance and so did Si so I figured that was the best bet,” I said, brushing my hair off of my shoulder and leaning back on my hands. I looked up at the sky and sighed, “It’s so beautiful here at night. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it.”

“It’s one of my favorite things about West Munroe, the stars always seem to shine so bright,” he said, placing a hand on top of mine. “Then I saw you and you put them to shame, Gracie.”

I rolled my eyes before standing up and pulling him to his feet. “This gala is almost over and you’re yet to dance with me, John Luke.”

He took my hand in his and started walking back into the warehouse. He held me close as he moved us across the dance floor effortlessly. I always felt so safe in his arms; I just loved his so much that it scared me a little bit.

I was scared that I was falling too hard too fast for him. I didn’t want to put all of my heart into him and for him to decide that he doesn’t want me anymore. I would be heartbroken.

....

Seems like trouble's brewing in Grace's head. Is she overthinking everything or does she have a reason to think like that?
