There's a new outfit for Grace on the link that's in the summary, if you want to go check it out. There's also a picture of Evan on the side so you can imagine him just right...
....
Sadie’s Point of View:
We were all at my house after we’d shot bows for almost two hours. Cole, John Luke, and Dean were playing X-Box while Grace and I (mostly Grace) made peach cobblers. She had to have her mind on something else because she almost forgot about the cobbler being in the oven twice and I had to remind her.
“Spill it right now, Grace. What’s got you so distracted?” I asked after she’d nearly cut off her hand slicing up peaches.
She looked around to make sure we were alone before moving closer to me and starting to whisper. “I want to do somethin’ that’ll make John Luke notice me. I think I need to become more girly.”
I shot that down almost immediately. “That’s definitely not the way to go. He doesn’t like girly-girls, he likes girls who he can hunt with and shoot with. You’re his perfect girl.”
“I don’t think that’s true, he doesn’t even realize I exist. If I don’t turn girly then how do I get his attention?” she asked after she put the last cobbler in the oven and set a timer.
A light bulb went off in my head and I grinned. “You and I are going out shopping tomorrow and we’re going to get you a man. We’re going to make John Luke jealous; sometimes that’s the best medicine.”
Her lips pulled up into a grin as she thought about it. “That may be the best idea you’ve ever had, Sadie Robertson. I can’t wait.”
We went into the living room with the boys and sat down on the floor in front of them. I saw Grace lean back against John Luke’s legs and saw him lean forward to be closer to her. They were both so clueless when it came to each other that it was almost painful.
“You know they’re never going to see it until it’s too late, right?” Cole asked, leaning forward so he could whisper so they wouldn't hear him.
Little did he know, I already had a perfect plan to make them notice before that…
Grace’s Point of View:
I got dressed the next day and waited for Sadie to come over. John Luke’s truck pulled up outside my house and honked the horn. I kissed my dad’s head before running out to get inside. I got into the back and saw that John Luke was dressed in camo and had paint smeared on his face.
“We’re going duck hunting after I drop y’all off. I’ll call when we’re done and pick y’all back up,” he said, using the rearview mirror to back out of my driveway.
“Tell the guys that the cobblers I made are in the fridge at Miss Kay’s,” I said, playing with the bottom of my tank top. “She bought vanilla ice cream already so it’s good; just heat it up for Si and Jase.”
“I’ll do just that, but I’ll make sure I get a piece before they attack. Those things are great,” he said, winking at me in the mirror. “You’ve got a gift.”
I looked down at my knees and started counting the freckles there. He had a way of bringing out my bashful side like no one else could.
“Thank you. Sadie helped this time,” I said, hoping to take some of the attention off of me.
“Oh god, she didn’t do much did she? She can’t cook to save her life,” he said, looking over at Sadie with a horrific face.
I huffed and crossed my arms over my chest. “Do you doubt my abilities to make things work? I am an awesome cook even if Sadie pitches in.”
