Warriors untold tales: Skystorm's Troubles

2. Aftermath

Cinderkit and Skykit sat in the small crack -- it wasn't very big. It was big enough (considering it fit both Cinderkit and Skykit) but small enough so no one could reach in and scratch them. They heard a huge battle going on outside the medicine cat den, which had all the elders and kits and one warrior protecting them.

No one was safe from the battle outside because at that moment 5 swiftclan warriors burst in and started to attack. Icefur, the only warrior called on the able elders to help her defeat the warriors.

I lept on the first Tom to go in the den and raked my claws along his slim back. He yowled and tried to shake me off, but I held on tight and wouldn't let go. Then he jumped and rolled onto his back crushing me with his weight. I yowled in pain and sweetfur an elder, jumped on him and scratched his eyes, momentarily blinding him. Noticing this, I got out from under him and raked his belly the Tom got his sight and fled.

I looked around and saw that there was still two swiftclan warriors left. I ran past one while scratching his flank and bit his tail. I once again looked and saw that sweetfur chased off the other she cat.

" We should see ho..." I stopped mid sentence to see goldeneye laying motionless on the ground with Waterpaw over her. "S-s-shes d-dead" she wailed. (Goldeneye is Waterpaws mother. Once Waterpaw became an apprentice, she retired)

It was terrible, The clan was ruined. I looked around the clearing to see at least 3 bodies laying there. I padded toward the medicine cat den to find all the elders, Icefur, Petalheart, Waterpaw and the two kits in the back. I padded closer to see another body with Waterpaw wailing in sorrow at her dead mother.

While everyone was around goldeneye Cinderkit and I sneaked around them to get outside. "What happened?" Cinderkit asked.

"I think swiftcl...whoa" I trailed off seeing the damage.

I immediately seen my mother on her side on the ground beside someone else.

"Mom?" I said while creeping towards her "mom?!" I yelled trying to get her attention by now I was shaking her with my tiny paws, but she didn't move.

"I-is she d-d-dead?" Cinderkit shuddered at the thought.

"I'm sorry" mousewhisker limped up to us with many scratches. "I should've stayed with her."

Cinderkit looked up and said with a scowl "why didn't you!? You couldve saved her!"

Mousewhisker shrank back at the kits fierce outrage. "I already told you I'm sorry" he meowed sadly while padding toward Petalheart to get treatment.

---3rd person---

The two kits were curled around their mothers lifeless body with soft whimpers that could be heard. Ivystar and a few other warriors were dragging something else toward the two kits. It was Lionfur.

Skykit looked up and saw her father being dragged and immediately knew he was gone just like her mother, "at least they can take care of lionkit now." Skykit said softly, just loud enough for Cinderkit to hear.

The two kits spent the rest of the day in silence around their parents, after a while they had to say goodbye forever when Streamfur and Lionfur were moved to get buried by the elders.
