MARINETTE

Thursday

𝓘 can't seem to figure it all out! I thought I should take Cat Noir out but he was busy before... and now... I have nothing else better to do so—I'm taking the subway to deliver more of my bakery's goods.

Alya wanted to chime along, so here we are. "La prochaine gare est Bastille." (A/N: Translates to, The next station is Bastille.)

Alya and I walk towards where the train is supposed to come. "Girl, let me tell you, something was up with him!" Alya said with slight shrink of frustration.

"Oh come on Alya, what could he possibly be avoiding?" I say to calm her.

"No you don't understand, after you left I met up with him and he was like- super-touchy on the subject at the park."

I look over trying to build a picture. "What are you talking about?"

Alya sighs, "Like . . . okay, don't hate me but—Nino got Adrien to take your place at the park."

I gasp almost dropping the goods. "W-What? you're telling me, they were both there?"

Alya shrugs with a crooked smile, "Yeah... and apparently... "

We reach our station, whatever Alya said next didn't have any relevance to me. Because what was I now looking at...

A giant new poster, of Adrien abs Luka posing together?! It looks like... it's from the park too!

"A-ALYA! y-you're seeing what I'm seeing right?"

Alya stares at them with her mouth wide-open, then trying to collect herself, "Woah—SCOOP! so . . . this might be big towards you... but not even I knew they did a photo-shoot together?!"

I try to keep the goods from falling apart in my grasp. "How could I mess up his schedule? I thought I knew it by heart!" I stare flabbergasted, at the sight of seeing two of the guys I have feelings for.

I start rapidly thinking for a moment... Adrien wasn't at school yesterday, nor was he here today, and there was nothing from his best-friend...

Hm...

"Alya! What if Adrien's father punished him? What if somehow... his photo-shoot wasn't supposed to happen with Luka and a-and."

Alya took ahold my shoulders, "Mari, don't overthink this, I'm sure Adrien will tell us with an explanation once he can."

I try to take deep-breathes, "You're right... but if Adrien's not able to come to school, what about Luka? Oh gosh, what if because I didn't show up I made them get in trouble?" I say worriedly.

Alya shakes her head tightening her grip, "Listen, this isn't your fault you're just assuming the worst—I mean, you do that a lot so Mari, I need you to breathe, I hope you do know they're in the band together." I shutter at the thought of it.

I knew that, but I didn't know Adrien and Luka were like... working together? I just thought, he'd seen him a few times. But... what am I supposed to do now?

The echos of the tracks mirage the sides of the tunnel, and we hear the subway approach. I get out of Alya's grasp and turn away from the poster preparing to board. "Girl? You okay? I know it's a missed opportunity sure..."

I finish off, "Alya, I need you to go back home, I-I need... to figure out a few things."

By that, I mean I really need a distraction right now. I have to go see him, I have to see Cat Noir!

I need to transform, and then drop off food and find him.

Alya frowns, "Y-You just want me to leave?"

My mind begins to fog. "I'm sorry but... this is just weighing me down and there's... something I need to do."

Alya nods then shakes her head, "O-Okay but you won't even tell your best-friend?"

I frown back. "Alya... you know that's not what I meant..."

She looks at me distantly, "I thought you were just delivering... what came up this time?" She asks with a tone of annoyance.

I smile awkwardly, "W-Well, I might be seeing my grandpa, and you know how he is and... with all of this I think I shouldn't wear you out more so..."

She questions, "So?"

The train arrives. "Look—I'm sorry, but I have to go! thanks for coming along but it's best I do this alone."

Alya scoffs, "Oh okay, that's not how you were before..." she walks off.

I pause for a moment, I didn't want to make her upset, I try calling her name, there was no answer and the subway filled up quick, and now... I'm stuck just standing there. Tiki peeks out of my purse confused. I mope at the thought of having to keep so many secrets.

But I need to settle my feelings.

LADYBUG

I just finished delivering the bakery items, but now I have to face the consequences of dealing with Alya later. But this is important. It's very important. I have to find him, I have to find... Cat Noir.

By no means this is an excuse. I'm just, doing my job. Yeah—doing my job as Ladybug, protecting people that's all!

Pfft- I wouldn't call this lying... I can't drag Alya into this.

I stare at my miraculous trying to reach Cat Noir, but no-answer appeals. I frown and shrug it off. He's probably busy.

But busy doing what? You know what, I shouldn't even wonder. He has his life, and I have mine.

Besides, no-worries, I don't have to see him right away, but... I shift as I'm still in the middle of my search.

What do I do? Not him, perhaps... Adrien?

I find myself swinging towards his house. I subtly look at every window his house has.

I didn't see him, which meant that I could probably check his room to see if he has anything new. Anywho, I even learned to connect my communicator to the outside cameras to see if I spot him leaving.

But nope, nothing. I fidget around and my body won't rest until I find something to do.

"AKUMA ALERT—AKUMA ALERT! Please stay calm, Ladybug and Catnoir will take care of it it shortly, AKUMA ALERT—AKUMA ALERT!"

The alarm sounds and finally my mind is being put to ease. I smile in excitement, for I can finally speak to Cat Noir after all this is over. I pull out my communicator again and tap on the news.

"Coming live this is Nadia Chamock and boy do I have some news just for you! It seems at the Bastile subways that there is a Super-Villain we are all familiar with..."
