Samantha's POV:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When the bell rang signifying the end of first period, I scrambled out of my seat and ran to Emily's locker to confront her.
"Did you give Rowan my number?" I demanded. "Duh." Emily answered distractedly, trying to shove all her stuff from her locker into her bag. She turned to me. "Why do you look so pale?" She asked worriedly. "It's nothing." I muttered, brushing off her concern.
I felt a vibration in my pocket and took out my phone to see the notification. Then I noticed the time. "Damnit! We're gonna be late!" Emily and I sprinted off in opposite directions.
...
By the time I had gotten to Math class, the teacher had already begun the attendance. I quietly slipped into my seat right as the bell rang. Luckily, she didn't notice.
"Samantha?" The teacher announced, finally getting to my name. "Here!" I called back, trying to catch my breath.
Rowan caught my eye quickly. He grinned and mouthed 'Hey Sam' in my direction. I waved in response, smiling.
The class went by quickly.
Every few minutes, I would glance quickly at Rowan to find him already looking at me. I would bask in that feeling for a second before turning back to my work.
...
"Hi." I whispered to Emily as I slid into my seat next to her. "How'd it go with Rowan?" She asked, getting right to the point. I rolled my eyes, but was too excited to keep up the act. "So basically he-"
Riiiiiingg
The bell interrupted me. I glared at the ceiling for a minute before continuing. "It's not much. Basically, he just kept looking in my direction and smiling."
"Eeeeeeee!" I glared at Emily as she had her fangirl moment. People turned to stare at us and I pulled my hood over my head to avoid their glances. Emily on the other hand, was grinning ear to ear. "What?!" I whispered furiously. "He likes youuuuuuu!!" She squealed. I shoved her slightly. "Shut up." "I'm serious!" She protested. "So am I." She glared at me and I glared right back.
"Emily?"
"Here!" She called, turning to look at the teacher at the front of the room, breaking eye contact with me.
I sighed and readjusted myself to do the same.
...
As the bell rang signaling the end of 3rd period, I jumped out of my seat and bolted to the door to beat the crowd to my locker. I didn't want to risk being late again. I think I heard Em call after me, but I didn't slow down to confirm it.
I hurried through the hallway, brushing shoulders with people as I headed to my locker. I shoved earbuds in and switched my music on as I maneuvered through the crowd of people walking in all directions.
Arriving at my locker, I put my combo in and slammed it open, making people near me jump. I ignored them and switched out my stuff, grabbing what I would need for English.
...
"Bitch." Emily muttered angrily, sliding into the seat between me and Caleb. "What?" I whispered back. "You left me by myself even though we have the same class!" "Sorry Em." I muttered. "It's fine, whatever." Emily turned her back to me in order to greet her boyfriend properly. I sighed and opened my book.
I looked up as I heard someone sit down on my other side. My eyes locked with Rowan's brown ones. He grinned at me. "Whatcha reading?" He asked, nudging my shoulder with his. "Oh, um, Divergent." "Oh cool! Do you like it? I loved it." He was grinning ear to ear. "You've read it?" I asked, surprised. "Duh." He responded sassily. My smile widened. "I love all the books. I'm just rereading them." "Finally! Someone who understands me!" He shouted dramatically. "Shhhhhhh." I hissed at him while giggling.
Movement on my other side caught my eye and I turned to face Emily, slightly annoyed. She was wiggling her eyebrows suggestively with a wicked grin. "Don't even." I said threateningly, shaking my finger at her. She just winked, but stopped with the strange facial expressions, so I still consider that a win.
I turned back to Rowan, who was now flipping through the pages of my book. "Hey!" I said, trying to grab it back, but he held it out of my reach. I glared at him until he relented, handing it back to me with a look of defeat. "Don't ever touch my books again." I hissed at him, miming shooting him with finger guns. He put his hands in the air in a non threatening manner. "I swear I won't." "Good." I said. I grinned again. "What were you looking for anyway?" "Just random parts. Whatever I can find." His face was slightly pink. "You were totally looking for the kiss scene." His face got redder. "Maybe." He said in a small voice, hiding his face slightly. I burst out laughing as he buried his face in his hands out of embarrassment.
The rest of the class went on like that. We barely payed attention to the teacher, so busy talking to each other. I couldn't remember a time where I had smiled so much.
