When Aunt Beth pulled up she got out with bags of food. Me and James walked up holding hands, "Mrs. Beth what's with all the food?" James asked, letting go of my hand and taking some of the groceries.

"There is a dance-dinner-party. I wanted to whip up a few dishes to take." Aunt Beth replied. Aunt Beth and James took the bags into the house, leaving me behind.

I walked over to the tree with a five year old swing.

I slowing started swinging, just thinking. Thinking of my new life, and how I now have a mother who loves me. I have a new mean girl who's out to destroy me. I have a possibly have a boyfriend. I don't really know if we're together or not.

We'll talk about that later I guess. I have a new room. My bruises are almost gone now. The scares on my wrist are fading. Im just happy.

Someone grabbed the swing until it completely stopped. Then I saw James come out from behind the swing. He sat on a rock that was in front of the swing and he took my hand. "K, We need to talk." James said. Oh no. I hate that sentence, its like telling someone their about to die.

"Y-yeah." I shuddered, James looked serious. Not that that was something he never did.

"I wanna take you to the dance tonight." He said kind of nervous. I breathed a little easier now. "Okay." I said but he wasn't finished....

" As my girlfriend." James said. Oh, that's why. I hugged him and he hugged me back. "But what about Cassie?" I said. Cassie may be a mean person but she still has a heart. Well I think so.

"Cassie and I were never a good match." He said and smiled.

Im going to a dance with a boy. What am I going to wear???
