After the overwhelming welcome from the campers and Mr. Brunner, Grover escorted the blonde duo to the infirmary for a check-up. Miraculously, despite a car crash and a severe fall while climbing the hill, Cassandra emerged without a scratch. Percy, however, bore the marks of his encounter with the Minotaur, leading to him being kept overnight for observation.

Cassandra was insistent on staying by Percy's side, feeling uneasy in her new surroundings and knowing Percy would likely feel the same upon waking. She also knew Percy tended to act impulsively when upset, and he would definitely be upset about his mom. Cassandra tried to persuade the head healer to let her stay but was ultimately kicked out.

Despite the directive, Cassandra remained stubborn and only moved a short distance from the infirmary. She defiantly placed her bag next to the infirmary door, intending to wait there until she could see Percy. Grover attempted to persuade her to rest, but Cassandra remained adamant.

Despite her exhaustion, Cassandra struggled to sleep, her mind consumed by the events of the day, with her primary concern being Percy's well-being. Eventually, fatigue overcame her, and she drifted off as the sun began to rise, though her sleep was short-lived.

As Percy stormed out of the infirmary, driven by his desire to locate his godly father, he failed to notice Cassandra asleep outside the door. "Someone's determined this morning," she muttered, roused from her sleep by Percy's outburst.

"Have you been out here all night?" Percy asked, taking a seat beside her and putting his "mission" on hold.

"Mhm," Cass nodded. "The healer wouldn't let me stay inside, but I wasn't about to leave you alone."

Percy shook his head shocked that Cass had stayed outside all night, "I guess someone had to make sure I didn't punch the first person I saw."

"You didn't punch anyone, right?" Cass asked, concerned, since she had been asleep and wasn't the first person to see him that morning.

"No, no I didn't," he chuckled, resting his head on her shoulder.

"Thank goodness. How are you holding up?"

"I'm alive," Percy answered, clearly avoiding talking discussing the events of the previous night.

Cass knew that Percy was still coping with the fact that he had watched his mom turn into a cloud of dust. Sympathizing with him, she knew they had both endured a lot in the last twenty-four hours, but Percy's loss was particularly devastating. "I won't push you like Grover does, but know I'm always here if you want to talk. I understand what losing family feels like," she assured him, wrapping him in a hug. "Now let's go find out who our other parent is. Though I'm definitely gonna need help up."
