While all Cassandra wanted to do was go back to sleep she made herself presentable for the day ahead. Donning her usual Yancy uniform, she added one of the many plaid shirts Percy had left in her room. The bell signaling breakfast echoed through the dorms, and although she knew she'd be late, she finished getting ready, throwing her messy blonde hair into two braids cascading down her head. Though genuinely exhausted, she managed to look put together and cute. Finally, after throwing on her beat-up converse, she headed to find her friends in the cafeteria before their field trip.

Walking down the empty halls of Yancy , Cassandra admired the peacefulness before the day's inevitable commotion. It was a nice way to clear her head before facing the mental challenges of schoolwork. When she reached the cafeteria, she made a beeline for her group's usual table, avoiding the attention of being late.

"Well, look who decided to join us, finally," Percy remarked as Cassandra sat down next to Grover.

"Just enjoying the calm before the storm, " she responded, taking a piece of toast off Grover's plate, which he had clearly saved for her. "Thanks for the toast, Grover."

He smiled at her, sharing a silent "you're welcome". Grover focused on setting up his and Percy's favorite game, a mix of a card game and a dice rolling game. It made no sense to Cassandra, but she enjoyed watching the two play, often retaining and remembering facts about the monsters on the cards.

"Boys, it is eight in the morning. Are you seriously going to play right now?" the girl questioned.

"Yes, absolutely," Percy responded. "Don't act like you aren't going to get super involved; Grover and I both know you will."

"Percy makes a good point, Cass. You always get invested in the game."

"Fine you two win," Cass chuckled at how well they knew her. "Only because I'm too exhausted to put up a bigger fight."

As her best friends played, she sketched on a napkin, always thinking she could draw a better picture than what was on the card. Her art quickly drew her out of the real world, and it wasn't until she was finished with her sketch that she realized Percy was asking her something.

Still not registering what the boy asked she said, "Oh, that's the Minotaur. It's known for being part bull, part human,  and is one of the most infamous monsters in mythology."

"Well, that was impressive," Grover said, putting the Minotaur card away.

"Yeah, but that's not what I asked," Percy retorted, rolling his eyes at the fact Cassandra was able to spit Minotaur facts before he did.
