With the news that Stefan stupidly sealed himself in the tomb with Katherine, Bonnie was working her ass off to release him from there. Elena called me crying about the news as I lay tiredly on my comfy bed. I did my best to comfort her over the phone, so exhausted from all of this. I was worried about Stefan, him being stuck with someone who would torment him.

Maybe Stefan is right, I'm not cut out for this stuff. I mean, I'm the only other human other than Jeremy involved in this supernatural mess. But he's doing fine, other than the whole tomb situation.

Why was it so difficult for me? Am I just weaker? Am I any help at all?

Deprecating thoughts banged around my mind hard enough to give me a pounding headache. I groaned and slammed my face into the pillow, resting my eyes.

I somehow drifted off.

I opened my eyes to see the woods. Dark, thick trees wove around each other to create a dense forest that looked intimidating. Moonlight barely passed through the tops of the canopy, yet it called me into the middle of it. I glanced down, my bare feet resting in the dark dirt. I slowly walked through the trees, looking around. It was deadly silent.

I weakly called out, "Hello?" My voice echoed with no response.

An animal growled.

I woke up with a gasp. That was a dream, I reassured myself. I shivered with anxiety and rubbed my eyes. I glanced at my phone to see a missed call from my dad so I quickly called him back.

"Hey Dad, sorry I took a nap," I weakly chuckled.

He laughed it off, "No worries honey. I just wanted to check in. How was your day?"

I weakly lied, "Oh you know, same old. How's the conference?"

Dad grumbled sarcastically, "Oh you know, same old."

I huffed at his tone, "What's wrong?"

"You just sound stressed and I know you're lying to me, sweetheart. I worry."

I didn't blame my dad for that, he was protective of me as I was his only family.

"I just had a bad dream, it freaked me out," I mumbled and adjusted myself on the bed. "Want to tell me about it?" He asked curiously. I gulped, still anxious.

"It was dark, I was in the woods just standing there. I called out for anyone but I was alone. It just weird vibes all around."

My dad was silent on the other line for a few moments too long. "Huh, that sounds scary kiddo. You're okay though?" He sounded weird, like fake. I didn't push it though, just thinking my mind was looking for issues.

"Yeah Dad, fine. Thanks for calling me," I said.

"Good night kiddo, love you."

"Night, love you too."

I hung up my phone and set it on my nightstand. I started getting ready for bed and soon fell asleep wrapped up in my duvet.

My shoe slipped on the stone step leading down into the tomb. I swore and regained my footing.

I shouldered my book bag and finally made it down. A deep, dark entrance led into the stone tomb. I shuddered when I felt chills. Seeing the vastness of the shadow-filled tomb sent me on edge.

I called out softly, "Stefan?" A few moments passed before the softer Salvatore appeared. He looked rough like he hadn't been sleeping.

His tired face morphed into surprise. He whispered my name and took a closer step to the edge of the entrance.

I smiled softly, "Hey dude. I brought you some stuff. Didn't want you to lose your mind in here."

"You can't be here, it's not safe for you," Stefan sighed. "You know this and you continue to not listen. You're supposed to stay away from all of this, Wills."

I rolled my eyes and mocked his angry tone. "Relax Dad, I'm on one side of the line and you're on the other. How much farther can I get?" I smiled cheekily at him.

He watched as I bent down and rummaged through my linen book bag. A few books, blood bags, a notepad with pencils, and my personal favorite; a pink Nintendo DS.

I pushed them all over the barrier with a brown, decaying stick. I got back up and watched as Stefan frowned at me.

"I doubt you're going to be in here for much longer. I just wanted to make sure you're not going to be cray-cray when you come back out," I joked. He finally smiled and thanked me quietly.

"Share it with Katherine, I don't envy her position either," I admitted. I heard some rustling before she appeared.

"Now she's not afraid of me," Katherine purred. She looked like hell, wasting away. I've seen her a few times but she's never actually interacted with me. The closet we got was the Lockwood Masquerade Ball. It still unnerved me how she was an exact copy of my Lena, down to the too-innocent espresso eyes.

"Hi," I whispered, still not comfortable with her. She rolled her eyes and sighed dramatically, "Never mind."

Stefan's head snapped towards her and his face transformed, his fangs poking out. He hissed and she reluctantly backed off. "Jeez I get it Stefan, leave your women alone. First Elena, now her?" She snarked.

My eyebrows furrowed at her insinuation. What the hell was she on about?

"Okay, I literally didn't have to bring you anything. Stefan is my friend, not some copycat bitch," I growled out, annoyed with her. Her eyes twinkled and she almost seemed impressed at my outburst.

"Willow, thank you. Please get home safe," Stefan said while he gathered everything up. I smiled at him. "There's Mario Kart on there, by the way. It'll help pass the time."

He nodded and grinned at me. Stefan started walking back deeper into the cave. Katherine stayed though, observing me.

I grabbed my bag off of the dirty floor and did my best to ignore her.

"Goodbye Katherine," I mumbled and turned on my heel. Her voice called out.

"Thank you, Willow."

I looked at her and nodded in surprise. I walked up the stairs slowly, careful not to slip. When I got into my car, I let out a breath I didn't even realize I was holding.

That was stressful.
