A criminal, an enemy, a manipulator, a slave, and a lover who lost everything.

Blood drips onto the floor as Kafka walks through the colossal and extensive hallway adorned with famous artwork from across the universe.

She stops her journey before a tall and sturdy arch door. She presses a hand on it, feeling the material, which is the fusion of metal and steel. Her fingers rise slightly as she presses on the carving of the door; a mix of a smile and a frown twitches on her lip. She trails her hand upward, following the carving until she can't reach further. Her eyes ponder over the heavenly being that's engraved in. Behind the dead merlot's eyes, a hint of sorrow lies within.

"My love."

With a sigh, she pushes the door open. Light slips into the darkness of the hollow room. A light ray emitted from above slowly commenced its presence in the centre of the room once Kafka stepped foot inside.

The sound of her heels fills the silent room. As she goes closer to the light ray, a platform rises, wielding a violin. She takes off her coat and lets it fall to the ground. She then removes her gloves and tosses them behind her. A loud thud erupts behind her, and all light sources are gone, except for the one in the centre.

Kafka stands before the violin and drags a finger along the string of the violin. For every inch she moves, the violin lights up and showcases its beauty to her eyes. Darkness captures the middle of the violin, while the base possesses transparency with webs attached at the top. Little silver butterflies adorn the centres of each spiderweb. To the right of the violin, a jet-black bow with web patterns lies beside it.

Kafka grips the violin by the neck and cradles it on her shoulder. She grabs the bow and rests her chin on the chinrest. The platform descends and blends in with the ground.

Her posture is straight and elegant. Her hands are ready for a musical performance only for her soul and what is hers.

She shut her eyes. A deep breath was released from her lip before she made the bow contact with the strings of the instrument.

The light ray then disappears, and Kafka is left alone in the dark with a violin in hand and a thought.

Kafka parts her lip before closing it back. She let out a whistle before she started humming.

On brûlera toutes les deux

(We will burn the both of us)

The heavenly devil moves her fingers along the fingerboard as the bow glides with the string. Ease consumes her soul as decades of memories residing in her muscles control her every movement.
