It wasn't like he had a plan or something of how to be a villain. It kind of progressed naturally.
He met Darren at a party. He was twenty years old and gorgeous. If Arthur had been unsure about his sexuality before he definitely wasn't anymore. Even if Darren was four years older he seemed interested.
They started to hang out in their free time. Arthur never brought him home. He had no intention of letting his parents pick Darren's brain and emotions and Darren had an apartment so it made more sense to hang out at his place anyway.
They shared a first kiss and it didn't take long before Arthur fell head over heels for the older boy and a couple of weeks later he lost his virginity. It had been okay but not exactly what he had imagined. Directly afterward Darren sat up and started to roll a joint.
"Want some?""Nah, my dad will bust my ass." Arthur chuckled.
Darren rolled his eyes.
"How will he even know?""Trust me, he will." Arthur muttered.
Darren just shrugged his shoulders and lit the joint. Arthur looked around the bedroom.
"What do you do for a living?""This and that." Darren replied.
"Where do you work?" Arthur asked.
"Work? That's for losers. I make a good living elsewhere." Darren smirked.
"Doing what?" Arthur asked.
"You know... This and that." Darren replied.
"Something illegal?" Arthur question.
"Why? Gonna turn me into the cops?" Darren asked and glared at him suspiciously.
"Of course not!" Arthur immediately replied.
"Good." Darren said.
A week later Arthur found out that Darren was a dealer among other things. He didn't care. Darren introduced him to his gang. Arthur wanted to fit in and when one of the guys offered him some amphetamine he agreed easily. He had promised his dad that he wouldn't smoke weed. They hadn't said anything about other drugs. He liked the kick it gave him.
When Darren asked him if he wanted in on a job he said yes. Later that night they stole a car and got away with it. Arthur experienced such a rush.
He got paid a small share as soon as they had stripped the car and sold the parts. For him, it was a lot of money and he went on a shopping spree.
A week later his parents sat him down for a talk.
"We've just been informed that you've been skipping classes." Niall said."They're boring." Arthur shrugged.
"Arthur, this is serious. You need an education!" Claire said.
Niall furrowed his eyebrows.
"Are you smoking pot again? I can't hear your thoughts clearly.""No, I'm not smoking pot! Maybe your ability isn't as awesome as it used to be." Arthur muttered. He was doped up on amphetamine but he wasn't gonna tell them that.
"Arthur, what can we do to help you?" Claire asked.
"I don't need help, mum." Arthur sighed.
"You've been acting out for a year now! Maybe you should see a therapist?" Niall suggested.
"Right, because I can tell them all about my freaky superhero parents. Do you want me to be locked up at a psych ward, or what?" Arthur snorted.
His parents looked really hurt and he felt guilty for a second but pushed those feelings away.
"Maybe you could talk to Evan, Wolf, or Dante?" Niall suggested."Right, because they totally understand how it is to be me." Arthur replied sarcastically.
"Maybe not but you can speak freely to them. They grew up with parents with special abilities. I think they'll understand more than you think." Claire said.
When Arthur just shook his head Niall gave it a try.
"You could always talk to one of the girls or Harry. Louis maybe?""I don't need to talk to anyone." Arthur muttered.
"We can't force you, but you better stop skipping classes otherwise we have to provoke your privileges." Niall said.
Arthur just snorted and crossed his arms over his chest. Niall sighed.
"Okay, go to your room. Dinner's in an hour."Arthur got up and left the room.
"What are we gonna do about him? He's so angry all the time." Claire said worriedly."He's a teenager. It will pass." Niall said.
"I hope so." Claire sighed.
They got up and started dinner. When Niall went to tell his son that dinner was ready his room was empty.
"He snuck out!" He told his wife as he returned to the kitchen.Arthur had jumped out the window an hour earlier and headed to Darren's place. He was having a party so Arthur joined in.
He stayed over and headed to school the next day. He has to keep his parents off his back for a while and play a good boy.
He got grounded for sneaking out but that didn't bother him. He just snuck out again when his parents fell asleep.
Life was pretty exciting. He was in love for the first time. Laws didn't apply to him. He was starting to get a hang of this whole villain thing and what he enjoyed the most was that his dad and his friends had no idea. They were really crappy superheroes. In Marvel movies, the heroes at least had some clue.
He didn't know if Darren loved him back. They hadn't exactly talked about feelings and he wouldn't be the first one to say something. But Darren liked his company and he had introduced him to his crew. That must mean something.
That was why he agreed to find Darren some new clients at school. Arthur had seen some students do drugs at parties so he had an idea who to approach. He became the middle hand and Darren gave him a part of the profit but he usually ended up taking his cut in amphetamine anyway.
