Arthur had a creeping feeling of being watched. It had started a couple of days ago. He got this tingling feeling in the back of his neck but when he turned around no one was there so he ignored it.

Business was good. He had made something of a name for himself at school. He was the to-go guy. He made sure that his customers kept his affairs quiet of course. He had two sisters at the same school after all.

He saw Darren almost every day. They had sex or got high, usually both. This time they just got high and kissed a little. He was still waiting for Darren to tell him that he was in love with him but Darren didn't talk about feelings at all and Arthur tried to play it cool.
"Here's the stash for next week. Make me proud." Darren said and handed him a goodie bag.

Arthur opened it to check that everything was there. He looked up and furrowed his eyebrows. He could swear that he just heard the front door unlock. He got up to check just to see it close in front of him. What the hell? It was like someone had opened and closed it. That was impossible... Unless... He knew someone who could be invisible.

He threw the door open and hurried down the stairs. He reached the entrance and ran outside and looked right and left. His heart dropped to his knees when he saw the back of someone he knew very well. He started to run after her.
"Eden!"

Eden stopped and turned around. She looked guilty.
"What the fuck, Eden? Are you spying on me?"

"I'm sorry, Arthur." Eden said and hung her head.

"Why? Wait, my dad put you up to this, didn't he? The fucking audacity!" Arthur growled.

Eden looked very uncomfortable.
"He's worried about you. We all are. Drugs, Arthur? What the hell are you thinking?"

"That's none of your damn business! I can't believe you violated me like this. You're unbelievable, you know that right? All of you and your freaking abilities. Just because you can do something no one else can doesn't mean you can use your abilities as you please. You're awful!" Arthur spitted out.

"I'm really sorry, Arthur. I'm not gonna tell your dad about your relationship with that guy. You know Niall will be okay with it though? I mean, the whole drug dealer thing not so much but the fact that he's a boy? Harry and Louis are two of his best friends. He won't be anything but supportive. He loves you unconditionally, Arthur. Claire too. They're good parents. Stop acting like a dick." Eden said.

"Yeah, stop acting like a dick yourself! Fucking narc." Arthur muttered.

"I'm gonna tell your parents about your drug business because I care about you. It's for your own good. You're walking down a dangerous path, Arthur, and for what? Do you really think it's that easy to have an ability? We always have to live in fear, Arthur." Eden said.

"Fear of what?" Arthur snorted.

"Every time we help out when something serious happens we put our lives at risk. We could die." Eden said.

"Harry will just go back in time and fix that." Arthur said.

"And risk the end of the world. It's not that easy. Everything has consequences, Arthur. That's not even the worst possibility. We could all be lab rats. Imagine what they would do to us in the name of science to try and figure out how we have these abilities?" Eden said and shuddered.

Arthur hadn't really thought about that.
"You scare me, Arthur. Every time you get high with your boyfriend you're putting us all at risk." Eden said.

"Right." Arthur snorted and shook his head.

"You are! What if you're too high to know what you're saying and tell him about us? He could turn us in." Eden pointed out.

"I wouldn't!" Arthur protested.

"I understand what a burden our secret has to be for you. You didn't ask for any of this but please Arthur, for the sake of my children, for my family, your family, Harry's, Louis', and Liam's families don't let it slip. You could destroy us all. Do you really hate us that much?" Eden questioned.

"I don't! It's not fair!" Arthur protested.

"Of course it isn't but that's life. Come on. We're gonna go talk to your parents now." Eden said.

"You can't make me." Arthur huffed.

"No, but Liam can. Darcy can. Your mum can. Evan can. Don't make us do that." Eden said sternly and stared him down.

"Fuck you for threatening me like that." Arthur lashed out but he followed her. It wasn't like he had a choice.

"I wish I didn't have to, Arthur. I really hate the position I'm in right now." Eden sighed.

"Well, you put yourself in that position." Arthur huffed as he followed her to her car.

"I'm trying to help you and protect my family at the same time." Eden answered.

"Fucking superhero complex." Arthur muttered.

Eden stopped walking and grabbed his arm.
"Get over it! Stop punishing everyone for being the one without an ability. Deal with it instead. Grow up, Arthur."

"Let go of me." Arthur said coldly.

Eden sighed and let go of his arm. They reached her car and he got in. He picked up his phone and sent a text to Darren to tell him that he had to leave due to a family emergency. Darren answered 'Whatever'. That gave him a lump in his stomach.

Life was shit again.
