Niall went straight to surgery and they removed the bullet. Claire, Avolon, and Abigail were sitting in the waiting room and Niall's friends and families showed up one after the other.
"Arthur tried to rob a bank?" Liam questioned.

"Unfortunately. Darcy is heading to the station. He needs a good lawyer." Louis answered.

"Thank you." Claire said.

"No need to thank me. I'm so sorry this happened, Claire." Louis replied and hugged her.

Niall made it through surgery and they got to see him an hour later. He was groggy but alive.
"Arthur?" He immediately asked.

"Police station. Darcy is with him." Harry replied.

At the police station, Darcy was advising Arthur not to say anything while she found out what he would be charged with. It didn't look bright. Armed robbery,  and a possible attempt murder. She asked to talk to her client alone.
"How are you holding up?"

"My dad? Is he... dead?" Arthur said and his voice broke.

"Uncle Niall is out of surgery. He's going to be okay." Darcy replied.

"Oh, thank God. I've been going out of my mind. I was so scared that he would die and it would be all my fault." Arthur said and broke down crying.

Darcy got up to hug him.
"You didn't shoot him, Arthur."

"No, but the bullet was meant for me and he saved me. I can never look him in the eyes again. I'm so ashamed." Arthur cried.

"Maybe this is the wake-up call you need, Arthur. I'm gonna be frank with you. The trial will be difficult. I'm gonna do my absolute best but prepare yourself. You're probably going to be incarcerated." Darcy said softly.

Arthur stared at her in horror.
"Jail?"

"You're too young for that. Youth Rehabilitation at a facility." Darcy answered.

"So basically jail! For how long?" Arthur wondered.

"I don't know." Darcy replied.

"Fuck!" Arthur uttered and hid his face in his hands.

"I'm going to make sure you can see your family now while we wait for the trial." Darcy said.

"No, no, no. I can't, Darce! I don't want to see them." Arthur panicked.

"You need their support!" Darcy said.

"I don't... I can't. I refuse to see them." Arthur said.

Darcy sighed.
"Alright. Our time is up. Keep it together. I'm gonna try and seed up the process."

She hugged him and left. He was down to a cell. He cried himself to sleep that night and every night for the next two weeks while he waited for a court date.

The trial was brutal. His parents were there and he just gave them a quick glance. They looked destroyed. His dad seemed to have aged ten years. He avoided to look at them after that.

Darcy did a good job representing him. Since there had been witnesses she could establish that he hadn't shot anyone and she also pointed out that his gun had been unloaded. He was sentenced to two years at a locked youth rehabilitation center. He was in shock.

As he was taken away in handcuffs he heard his dad shout his name. His voice was filled with despair. Arthur refused to look at him. He couldn't see anything anyway. His eyes were filled with tears.

He was taken to the facility where he would spend the next two years of his life. He kept to himself and refused to put anyone on his visitor list.

Two weeks went by. He didn't talk in therapy and he hardly slept. Life was unfair! If he just had gotten a special ability like the rest of his family he wouldn't be in this situation. He was angry. Mostly at himself for being so stupid but also Darren. How could he betray him like that? Darren couldn't love him at all if he tried to shoot him.  Whatever feelings he had for him in the past had changed. He hated him. What they had wasn't love. That much he understood.

He felt ashamed. His dad almost died because of him. How would they ever get passed that? His dad must hate him. He wasn't much of a villain after all and he clearly wasn't a superhero either.

One evening when he was locked in his room he thought he heard something outside the door. It was probably one of the staff checking on everyone. Suddenly Eden and Dahlia were standing in his room. He stared at them in surprise.
"What are you doing here?" He whispered.

"We're here to knock some sense into you. Let your family visit! Uncle Niall and Aunt Claire are so sad and worried about you." Eden whispered back.

"They are?" Arthur questioned.

"Of course they are! They love you, Arthur. Stop punishing them for something you did." Dahlia said.

"I didn't think they wanted to see me. I don't know if I can even look at them. Wait, you can bust me out of here!" Arthur said and stood up.

"So you can be on the run for the rest of your life? I don't think so." Eden snorted.

"So? I can't be here for two years!" Arthur argued upset.

"You can and you will. Use that time to get your shit together, and allow visitors!" Dahlia said.

"Okay." Arthur agreed.

Dahlia and Eden got invisible and walked through the locked door. Arthur lay down on the uncomfortable bed again and contemplated life. Eden and Dahlia had been right. He needed to change and take responsibility for his actions.

The next day he put everyone on the visitors list. He wasn't sure that anyone would come and see him but now at least they could if they wanted to. He had no idea what he would say to his parents if they decided to show up.

They arrived later that day during visitor hours. Arthur was nervous to see them but as soon as they were in the same room.his mum and dad came running to hug him. He broke down crying.
"I'm so sorry. Dad, I know that you can never forgive me but..."

"I forgive you. I love you, Arthur." Niall answered emotionally.

That made Arthur cry even more and it felt healing.

He had visitors almost every day. His parents showed up almost every day. His sisters visited him too and his dad's friends and families. It made it easier.
