The Strange Girl (Slow Updates)

CHAPTER 6

Winter was woken up by the sunlight illuminating the room they have rented. She yawned as she checked the other side of the bed where there is no trace of his father left.

Minabuti nya na maligo na at magbihis habang hinihintay na bumalik ang ama. She wore the white dress prepared y her mother before they set off to travel. Its a white sailor styled dress with blue accents on the hem, waist, sleeves, and collar. Its adorned with a cute blue ribbon on the chest and either side of her waist, just bellow the blue accents. It also have some buttons at the top of the ribbon on her chest and some buttons on the lower left side of the dress. Nang matapos nga syang magbihis ay sabay ding pagdating ng ama nya na may dalang agahan.

She immediately salivated with the delicious smell that engulfed the whole room upon her fathers entrance. she excitedly greeted her father as she hugged his leg.

"Magandang umaga, munting binibini." Pagbati pabalik ni Victor sa anak bago inilapag aang pagakin sa maliit na mesa sa kanilang silid bago binuhat ang anak at inikot sa ere. Umani ng munting halakhak mula sa anak ang ginawa nya at natawa na rin sya sa reaksyon ng anak.

They both enjoyed their breakfast before venturing out to the city. They still have to meet the merchant her father as a contract with. Even though Herman- the merchant who let them tag along, offered to buy all the goods they sell, Victor kindly rejected the offer since there are some items that already have a buyer.

They once again went to the market but this time, they went even farther in. On the end of the market sits a huge building, just in front of the plaza. Unlike the market, its not stalls that are abundant here, rather that stalls, strong looking people have gathered around. Winter had to be lifted on her father's shoulder again.

Victor only let her down when they reached the door of the huge building. Both of them are welcomed with a rowdy crowd. Some were passed out from drinking, some are still sober enough, and some are just happy viding with each other, clearly intoxicated with alcohol. The place was divided into two sides. The left side looks like the pub while the other looks loke a proper lounge with some people sitting silently and some are sipping their tea quietly.

Hinawakan ni Victor ang kamay ng anak at pumunta sa kanang bahagi ng malaking silid. The woman on the counter politely greeted them with a warm energetic smile when they reached her station.

"Narito ba ang guild master? Paki sabi nandito na si Victor" pakiusap ni Victor sa babae.

"Ah, kayo ho ba si Victor? Inaasahan nya ang itong pagdating. Hayaan nyo kong gabayan kayo sa kanya" she once again politely said and got out of the counter.

She guided them to one of the rooms at the back. When she reached a huge double door, she knocked thrice first before speaking.

" Guid master, narito na ho si Victor. "

There were a bit of rustling, as if someone was scrambling around the place before they heard a simple reply " papasukin mo. "

She then opened the door and gesture Victor and winter to go inside.

A well lit room welcomed their eyes as they entered the said room. Its a fairly large room with a rectangular coffee table on the middle with four chairs on either sides. An office table sits near at the end of the room near the floor to ceiling window and in the chair sits a muscular man who seems to be in his 60's.

He has this stoic expression on his face that made Winter unconsciously hid behind her father. With is eagle like eyes, salt and pepper hair that is tied in a ponytail, and that lustrous beard covering his face, he looked like someone who will bash your head if you make a small mistake.

"magandang umago, guild master, Kriger." Victor greeted the man as they reach the table.

"Magandang umaga rin, Victor. Dala mo ba ang mga anpag usapan antin?" The man named Kriger replied in a rather cheerful manner that made his voice boom through the room, making Winter flinch and jump a little.

"oh? Paumanhin, munting binibini. Mukhang nagulat ata kita" mas mahinahon nitong saad ng mapansin and munting bata na nagtatago sa likod ni Victor.

"Si Winter nga pala, aking anak. Sana ay hindi nakakaabalang kasama ko sya." Vicotr introduced his daughter to the guild master.

"Walang problema sa akin. Maupo kayo nang magawa na antin an g pakay nyo rito." Kriger rose from his seat and motioned them to sit the lounge at the middle of the room.

They settled at their seats and victor started to take all the products out of the bag he's carrying. The beren's hide, several claws, organs, and its core; three pouches of healing mushroom- a very hard to find medicinal fungus that is highly requested for making high quality healing potions; four rainbow snake skin- a very high quality leather popular among nobles for its durability and quite fascinating iridescent appearance once hit by the light of the sun and lastly, two bars of golden wax produced by the illusive Golden bees.

These items might be small in number but each of them fetch a high value in the market. Especially that these items are very hard to gather, and are items that nobility are willing to waste their money on.

"Ayon sa napagkasunduan, nariyan na lahat ng inyong iniutos" wika ni Victor matapos mailabas ang lahat ng kanyang dala mula sa kanyang storage bag.

Agad namang ininspeksyon Kriger mga produktong nasa kanyang harapan at nang makuntento sa kanyang mga nakita ay agad nitong pinatawag ang kanyang sekretarya upang ibigay ang kaukulang bayad sa mga dala ni Victor.

"Dalawang pilak para sa materiales galling sa beren, anim na ginto sa healing mushroom, apat na ginto sa rainbow snake at anim na ginto para wax"

Pagbibilang ni Kriger ng bayad nya. The lowest currency they have are coppers, one copper can buy 4 apples. A hundred coppers make up 1 silver and a hundred of silvers make up 1 gold coin.

Their inn accommodation, as she remembers, is 4 silver coins per day. A one bed room with comfort room and including three meals per day.

This means that they have earned quite a lot from these items. If you include the payment Herman made for the materials he bought, they have earned almost 40 gold coins.

So this is why we never had to struggle in our daily life?

Winter thought as she stared at the pouch full of gold coins in front of them. This, for sure is the reason why they have lived in comfort. Why, even though they live in the inner part of a dangerous forest, their things in the house are f high quality, her fathers armors and gears are high level and their clothes are also of high quality.

"mananatili ba kayo hanggang Festival?" Kriger's question brought her back to her thoughts.

"ah, oo. Para naman maranasan nitong munting dalaga ko ang kasiyahan dito." sagot naman ni Victor at ginulo ang buhok ng anak. Agad naman nag ningning ang mga mata ni Winter sa narinig.

"Mabuti, madami kayong pwedeng gawin dito, lalo na't may duelo atang patimpalak ang hari."

Both men stood up and shaked hands, a sign of their deal being done. They briefly said their good bye and was on their way again.
