Chapter 14

Arya's Point Of View.

"Now only three days are left, we haven't found any information about Pema. What should we do?", I asked Zeyer.

"I don't know. I think may be she is back to Bhutan", he sighed.

"I'm sorry, I messed up everything" I said.

"No, it's not your fault. I should have already told my parents way before they fixed the marriage. I was just a coward", he said.

"Umm... everything happens for good. She'll come back", I said and he smiled.

"I'm going out for a while. My friend wants to see me", he said and went out.

"Kai...meow...meow...Kai...where are you?", I looked for the kitten.

After looking for Kai for a while, I saw him laying near his food.

"Tsk...Kai you are such a foodie ", I smiled and went towards Kai.

But something was strange. When I picked up Kai, he wasn't responding. He was breathing heavily and salivating.

"Kai...what happen...Kai??", I shook the kittens little but his condition seemed unstable.

Zeyer's Point Of View.

"Yes, Neung Diao...why did you call me here?", I asked.

"Isn't she your girlfriend? ", He pointed towards the cafeteria. And there I saw Pema. All these while, I wanted to see her and tell her that I love her.

She was talking with her colleagues, so I waited outside.

When she came outside, I went towards her.

"Pema...", I called her.

She turned around and upon knowing it was me, she tried to ignore me and started walking away.
I held her hands and took near my car.

"What's wrong with you, Zeyer?", She shouted.

"What's wrong with me? Why did you disappear so suddenly? I looked for you everywhere. I came here looking for you and you are ignoring me", I said.

"Then what should I do? You married to someone else", she cried.

"But, It wasn't my choice. And we have filed our divorce too. But the court has given us 6 months waiting period. Arya and I are good friends", I sighed.

She remained silent for a while.

Just then I got a call from Arya.

"I'll attend this call", I told Pema.

"Huh...ha...huh....", I heard Arya sobbing.

"What happen Arya? Why are you crying?", I asked.

"Some...huh... something is wro..ng with Kai. Please come home and take him to the vet", she cried.

"Okay... I'll be back. Don't worry", I said and looked at Pema.

"She is calling you? Huh, I don't think you are the same Zeyer I know. The look in your eyes when you heard her cry... it's quite visible that you really care for me, just like when you cared for me", she said and rolled her eyes.

"I'm sorry, Pema. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Please come at Koh Lan Beach", I said and started my car.

When I reached home, Arya was no where to be seen. Did she go by herself? She is not even familiar with the streets here.

I called her.

"Arya, where are you?", I asked.

"I'm returning from the vet", she looked sad.

"Is Kai okay?", I asked.

"Kai...huh...Kai is no more", she cried out loud.

"Shu shu... don't cry. It's okay. I'm coming to pick you up. Stay where you are right now", I said.

Before going outside to pick her up, I saw her slippers lying on the floor.

Damn...she went there barefoot?

I took her slippers and got inside the car. I looked at the corners of the road looking for her.
And there, I saw her. She was sitting on the bench under the willow tree.

I parked my car, and went towards her.

"Arya", I said.

She looked at me with her puffy eyes, her nose all red and she looked at me trying to hold her tears.

I sat next to her, and patted her head assuring her that I'm here for her.

"😔🥺😭😭😭😭", She sobbed while I caressed her hair.

After a while, she got little better.

"Why does all the people I love leave me?", She said.

"No one wants to leave, but situations make them leave. Don't worry, I'll always be there for you", I wiped her tears and she nodded her head and smiled.

"Let's go", I said putting the slippers on her feet.

"Should we?", I asked and she smiled slightly.

I held her shoulders and walked her towards the car.

After reaching home, 10:30pm:

I took shower and got on the bed. Arya looked at me from the couch.

"Is it comfortable there?", I asked her because she has been sleeping on couch since the day we got married.

"I'm used to it now", she said.

"Okay, then I'm putting off the lights. Goodnight", I said.

"Goodnight, and thank you for coming looking for me. I was actually lost on the way", she said.

"How did you go to the vet then?", I asked.

"I got on taxi there. But while returning I didn't. So I got lost", she said.

"I know you'll scold me, I'm not in a mood to listen your scolding. Scold me tomorrow ", she said and covered herself in blanket.

"You are crazy, you know that?", I chuckled.

She showed me thumbs up making me laugh again.
