Chapter 16 (Final)

Zeyer's Point Of View.

It's been a week that we have separated. At first our parents were shocked and didn't know how to react, but then we handled them anyway.

I woke up as my alarm rang. And as always, I ended up looking at the couch where Arya used to sleep. I thought I would get used to it after 2 or 3 days, but even after a week I couldn't adapt to my room without her being in it. I was so used to her talks, her laughter and her fragrance that now my room feels so empty now. I missed those things, or should I say I missed her. I cannot sleep well after she left. I wake up in the middle of the night and wish she was here. Why am I feeling this?

I started my car and headed to the hospital.

As always while going to my cabin, I stopped and turned my head to see if she reached. But as always, the door to her cabin is locked. Since that day she didn't come to hospital. The nurse says she has chosen the nightshift for a while.
Is it that she is avoiding me?

"Zeyer, let's hang out this evening if you are free", Pema texted. Well it's quite surprising that Pema is calm with our relationship.  Before she used to nag me to tell my parents about her, but now she doesn't. Infact she says we should not let them know for a while. Is she also confused about how we feel towards eachother?

"Okay. Send me the location ", I texted back.

While I was in the car, waiting for Pema...I saw one familiar figure at the other side of the road. She was checking her phone. I smiled upon seeing her.

"There you are, Arya", I smiled. Seemed like she was going to the hospital for night shift.

She looked around her surrounding with those almond eyes of her. She looked frustrated and tensed. May be she isn't getting the cab. I decided to give her a lift. But just before I started my car, someone came and startled her from behind... It was a man, who had hospital gown clung on his hands and stethoscope hung on his
neck. Seemed like he was a doctor too.

Arya looked at him and said something. May be because he startled her. They looked pretty close, he even patted her head and she smiled. Why did I not like that? I felt some uneasiness in me. Was I feeling jealous now?

"Hey, did you wait for long?", Suddenly Pema came and sat inside the car making me come back to my senses.

"No...no, I just reached few minutes ago", I said and drove the car. While going, I saw the glimpses of her smiling and talking with him. Is she dating him now? But no matter what the thing is, I'll always be there for her.

After a month:

Argh...why am I still not able to get her out of my mind? I banged my table. It was around 7pm when I had to stay late at hospital because of some works. But when I was about to leave for home, I again looked at her cabin and wished she was here.

When I was about to leave, I bumped with the same guy in the elevator. The guy I saw with Arya a month ago.

"Hey...you are doctor Zeyer, right?", He asked looking excited.

"Yes", I said awkwardly.

"Wow, I heard my female colleagues talk about you a lot", he laughed.

"By the way, I'm Tharchen. I'm a new pediatrician here", he smiled.

"Ah...nice to meet you", I said.

I wanted to ask him about his relationship with Arya, but before that he got a call.

"Yes, babe... I'm on my way. I don't have night shift today. Okay, I love you", he said over the phone.

"Haha, sorry...my girlfriend", he laughed slightly.
