"Explain this to me again." Carter said with a smile.
"Cmon Carter. It's just a party. Surely you went to a few in high school." Liam sighed.
That caught the attention of Clint, seeing as they were having this conversation in front of the TV in the common room.
"No. I didn't. I was too focused on my schooling because I knew I was going to go to college one day, and didn't have mommy and daddy money to live off." Carter said.
"No, but Derek has money!" Liam pointed out.
Carter rolled her eyes. "Point made."
Liam groaned out. "Fine."
Bruce walked into the room and sat on the couch next to Carter, giving her a smile, which she returned, causing a certain super soldier to glare.
"Hey. I was hoping to talk to you about something." Bruce whispered.
"What's up?" Carter said back, just as quietly.
"I was curious. How do you, uh. How do you train a new werewolf to keep from shifting?" He asked, not meeting her eyes.
Carter sat back. "You mean like, how do we train them to keep their pulse down so they don't shift?"
Bruce nods, but his eyes remaining on the ground.
Carter lets out a breath. "Well there's a few different ways to go about it honestly. But usually, it's to find an anchor."
"An anchor?" Bruce asks as his head shoots up to lock eyes with Carter.
She nods. "An anchor is something that grounds us. Keeps us human. It could be anything."
"What's yours?" Bruce asks, hoping for help.
Carter smiles. "Anger."
"Oh well. That's not going to work for me." Bruce said with a chuckle.
Carter shakes her head. "No probably not. It used to be Derek. That kinda went out the window when he cheated on me though. All I felt was anger. My mom dying, that added to it. Bitter anger, I guess. But the anger, the pain that I feel. It keeps me grounded to myself. Keeps me human, and keeps me in control. So that animalistic part doesn't take over."
Bruce nods in understanding. "Okay."
He starts to get up to leave, but Carter puts her hand on his arm, knowing he was looking for a way to keep the Hulk in check. "It doesn't have to be that for everyone. We can try other techniques and see if they work."
"Any ideas?" Bruce asks.
Carter was trying to keep their conversation private, so she'd remained quiet this entire time, but still knew that Steve and Bucky had most likely heard everything. "Want to try yoga with me tomorrow?"
Bruce looked skeptical. "I don't think that's going to work."
Carter chuckles. "Let's just give it a try. I'm serious! I don't have class tomorrow. Let me try. If it doesn't work, then okay it doesn't. I have a few other tricks up my sleeve that I use for newly bitten beta's that could work. We can try those after this."
Bruce says nothing as he looks into her eyes for a moment, he could see the determination behind them, and he couldn't say no. "Okay. Well give yoga a try tomorrow. If it doesn't work, then what?"
"We'll try something else. I'll go into details tomorrow. Either way, you gotta work some stress out your body someway." Carter said.
Bruce rolled his eyes. "Yeah I've very stressed. I wonder why?"
"Sarcasm isn't pretty." Carter said.
"Look who I hang out with." Bruce replies as he walked out of the common room, no doubt to return to his lab.
"What was that about?" Tony asked.
"Nothing. Just interested in werewolves." Carter shrugged as she played their conversation off, grabbing her book and opening it again as she continued where she had left off in her studies.
~ YOGA TIME ~
Currently Carter was getting the common room ready, setting up two yoga mats and moving furniture out the way.
And that's what Sam, Steve and Bucky walked into when returning from their morning jog.
Carter was wearing black skin tight yoga pants, and a matching black sport bra that really showed off her toned mid section.
"Damn." Sam said quietly with a smile, but Carter and the super soldiers caught it.
Carter turned to look at them and gave a smile and a chuckle.
And then, in walked Bruce. He was wearing gray sweatpants and a white tank top.
"You ready for this?" Carter asks with a smile.
Bruce nods. "I don't think it's going to work, but I'm willing to try anything."
"Yoga can help relieve stress in the body and muscles. You probably have a lot of pent of stress and aggravation. Just let it work through your body." Carter explained.
Bruce nods. "Anything is worth a try."
Carter puts on her most recent Yoga videos from YouTube as Bruce follows her moves.
