Chapter 13: Free

TWO WEEKS LATER

"I can't keep saying I'm sick Rebecca."

"I know but it's not right he does it to you", Rebecca told me one afternoon

It was deep into winter now. I snuck out of my house saying I was sick to Hugo so you know.... I didn't have to sleep with him, and that I went to hospital base.

" but Rebecca we are husband and wife and sure that doesn't mean we have to but I don't really have a say because I need to sell that I love him!"

"But you don't Lin you hate him", said Rebecca as she folded clothes.

"What can I do then"

"Why are you trying to sell your act", said Rebecca without looking up

".... Rebecca we would never make it",

"You can get out I will help you!", she said

"What do you mean your coming with me", I told her

"I can sell that I saw someone kill you or something so they don't come after you",

"I will get killed if you are not with me...., you are the only person left with me you have to come..."

"Yea Ok sister! I will come I need to finally be brave enough to get out of here, I can't stop saying that word sister, I have a family again",she said

I grabbed her into a big hug

"Don't ever leave me",

NEW MOON

Tonight is the night we escape. I don't know what I'm going to do next. I need to find Ki Ki but where would I start looking. I guess I may have to settle down with Rebecca or tell the police about mum and dad and get them to tell me who my real parents were,... are...

It was 6:20pm. Ten minutes before Hugo comes home. Things are getting worst with him.

FLASH BACK

"Hey Linny come here now, and take your clothes off. COME NOW! Don't keep me waiting!", Hugo screamed at me

I came out of the bathroom and into his presence. He grabbed me. I can't not say what happened next. He held me down with force, bruising me.

"STOP OW! Get off me!", I screamed my lungs out. I clasped my hands over my mouth. I shouldn't of said that.

"You'll regret that girly!!", he said

He pushed on me harder and start piling my skin off my stomach. I felt blood drip out. I couldn't stop screaming in pain

"Shut up girl",

I looked at my shoulder it was purple. My stomach was red and bleeding. He gave me a hit in the nose. My nose started bleeding uncontrollably.

"Ill see you tomorrow night!", said Hugo has he left.

PRESENCE

I still have the scar that was about 5 days ago that's why I keep saying I'm sick.

I opened the closet. I zipped up a black jacket over my t shirt. I put some track suit pants on and tied up my hair in a jel hair tie. It was time.

I won't miss this life.

I stumbled into Rebecca's cottage. I found out she was also a nurse that's why she looked after me. I smashed the door open. Snow starting to pile in. I shut the door close with my back.

"Rebecca!", I yelled

"Coming", she said as she walked over to me.

"Ok let's go", I said.

"Wait, were are we going to go", she said

"Anywhere but here",

"Well we need food stupid!", she said rolling her eyes smiling at me

"Whoops well we better be quick, but why are we going tonight anyway",

"Because it's a new moon so it will be dark so it will be hard to see us plus a snow storm is coming so we have to leave now", she said packing three apples into a back pack.

" I really nervous Lin, I've never disobeyed the king your husband before",Rebecca said nervously

"Hey it will be ok in fact it will be better than ok! Come on let's go", I told her

OUTSIDE
We ran out to the corner of the house and peeked around the corner. I couldn't really see anything expect snow raining in my eyes.

"The snow storm is starting!", I yelled

"Yeah we should be quick! The guards have gone inside but they could be back at any moment!", she yelled over the sound of the rushing snow

We started to run with out hesitation. Suddenly a guard come out of no where. We both ran behind a building.

"That was close"

"Come on!"

We started to run directly towards the fence.

"Hey Rebecca put your hoody on so they don't see our face", I said while running beside her.

We both pulled them up. Our fringes rustled in our faces.

"ALMOST THERE!",

I grabbed the fence. Rebecca is only a few feet behind me

I gasped

"Quick I see the guards!!", I yelled in alarm

I climbed a few feet up the wooden fence.It was bigger then I thought. I finally made it to the top. Rebecca was still at the bottom.

"Grab my hand!", I yelled down at her.

She grabbed my hand. It was cold and shaking. I pulled her up a little, but she was quite good at it herself. I let go of her hand.

*BANG

I heard something. A gun shot.

"It's ok it didn't get us", I reassured her

She struggled looked up at me. A tear round down her cheek.

"Thank you", she whispered to me.

She clasped and fell off the fence.

"No!", I screamed

Tears raced down my cheeks and down my neck. Blood came out of her chest. She wasn't breathing. She was dead.

"No no!!"

I went to jumb off the fence to get her.

"Go live your life lin I love you", she said just as she died

I need to get to her. I saw the guards coming. They started aiming at me with there guns.

I grabbed a feather off the fence from Rebecca's jacket still crying.

"I will remember you always", I said in between sobs. " I will live my life for you and stop Chelsea and mick our so called parents I will do it for you", I said in a crying mess. I felt like ripping my hair out.

I looked at her one last time. Good bye. I turned my head. And closed my eyes trying to believe this wasn't happening.

A Sharp pain in my leg switched me back to the situation. I had been shot. I grabbed my leg in pain. The guards are about 20 meters away. I had to just jump off this fence. I still couldn't stop crying but I was filled with rage. I wanted to scream at that guard that took her life away.

"TURN ON THEE..", shouted one of the guards but I didn't hear the end of his sentence.

"Wha!!ahhhhhhh", I screamed

I felt something shoot up my feet to my head. Zapping and frying my body. I fell off the fence into the outside world. With the last strength I had I crawled into the forest. Everything was blurry. I trotted a few more feet but it was all to much. I gave up and fell down alone....
