“Take it off! Take it off!”
Yurika had been chanting this all morning, trying her darnedest to get Urokodaki to take off his mask as he made his cup of morning tea. A pointless effort on her part, really, as it was only a matter of time before he had to pull the carving away to drink the hot beverage.
“Yurika, it's too early for this.”
“But daaaad! I wanna see your sweet daddy face!”
Tanjirou sweat dropped and smiled at her antics. “It is a bit early... You might wake up Dover.”
“I told you that's not his real name...”
“But that's what he wants me to call him... It would be rude not to.”
Yurika pursed her lips and considered it. Does that really count as being rude...? He chose that name as a joke!
“Your soul is too kind, Tanjirou. I like it, but hate it. I don't want people to step all over you.”
“I wouldn't worry about that. I won't let people take advantage of me.”
Yurika thought back to the anime scene where Inosuke stole his food... All the burgundy-haired boy did in response was offer him more...
“Riiight...” She mumbled.
Turning to the boy, Yurika looked deep into his eyes with a determined look. “Listen! You're sweet! You're precious! You're ababy! But that's okay! I like that about you!” She placed a hand on her chest. “I am none of those things! So I shall proteccthe beans!”
“I don't think I understand that last part... But I disagree! You're very sweet! You've been nothing but nice to me and Nezuko!” A light blush tinted his cheeks as he faltered a bit. “S-So, uh... Sorry... That was a bit loud...”
“I've been loud all morning, Tanjirou.” Yurika deadpanned. “I don't think anyone cares...”
“R-Right.”
A drowsy voice came from behind her. “I object...”
Dion walked into the room and plopped down between Yurika and Tanjirou, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. Still not quite awake due to their previous argument carrying on into the night, he placed his head onto her injured shoulder as if it were nothing, attempting to make himself comfortable.
