chapter 12: a friend in need

As days went past since the meeting with Azzazel the girls went to school as Esdeath was busy with fulfilling contracts and patrolling the area as Alex corresponded with Azzazel about the progress of the development of Ei's new hand.

Sakura academy
Ei let out a small yawn as the kendo team finished the training Ei was seated on the bench drinking a shake as Enji stood opposite of her drinking a water bottle
"Say Ei-chan have you seen the draw show for the National finals?" Enji asked as Ei shook her head Enji pulled out her phone and showed the draw results "we're facing Hiroshima and if we win the asian qualifiers we face the winner between Korea and China" Enji explained as Ei nodded in understanding "i want you to figure out all you can about Hiroshima" Ei ordered as Enji nodded in understanding before finishing her bottle and taking out two pieces of Onigiri and handing one to Ei who took it with gratitude taking a bite she smiled "its good" she told Enji with a soft smile as Enji grinned "i know right my nana made it for me" she said proudly as Ei nodded "say Enji you only ever told me about your grandmother what happend to your parents if i may ask?" Ei said gently using a napkin to clean her face as Enji looked down a sad smile adorning her features "my parents died 5 years ago in a house fire" she spoke sadly as Ei gently pulled the girl next to her using her arm to pull Enji in for a hug as Enji pressed her head into Ei's chest as she hugged the purple haired girl sniffing softly Ei gently pet the red-haired girl's head "thank you Ei-chan" Enji said softly as Ei just hummed
Continuing to just share the moment with the red haired girl.

Yae stepped out of the shower her kitsune features full on show as she was the last member of the team left taking care of her skin as she dried off and changed into her school uniform Yae then felt a ripple of magic as she was getting contacted by Esdeath "what can i do for you my queen" Yae said as she picked up the call "i need you to come to my coordinates i have found something interesting" Esdeath said before cutting communication as Yae changed into a shrine maiden outfit and opened a teleportation circle and teleported to Esdeath.

Back with Alexander

Alexander looked on in suprise as Azzazel
Teleported into his apparent holding a regal black box and a grin on his face "im finished~" he sang as he placed the box at the table in front of Alex who gently took the box and opened it as he picked up the object out of the box carefully it was a glove made out of a black steel with a pink cherry blossom twig running along it with small kanji written in the leaves "it looks amazing i can't thank you enough" Alex spoke as he gently placed the glove back.
"Yeah i know im amazing" Azzazel said arrogantly making alex sweatdrop as Azzazel waved his hand a magic circle appeared as the girl they talked about earlier black feathered wings sprouted out she opened her eyes electric yellow eyes met the violet ones of Alexander as Azzazel laid his hand on her shoulder "Alex this is Mileen a newborn fallen angel" Azzazel introduced the girl before turning to said girl "Mileen this is Alexander Bael your temporary guardian" Azzazel introduced the girl who bowed as Alexander nodded at her "its a pleasure to meet you Mileen" Alex said smiling at the girl "thank you for agreeing to look after me" Mileen said softly as Alex handed her a cup of tea he turned to Azzazel who looked at Mileen fondly before turning his gaze to Alex "should anything arise be sure to contact me" Azzazel said waving Alex off as he dissappeared again. "Come on i'll show you around and show you your room" Alex said as he led mileen around the house.

Streets of Hokkaido later that evening

Ei was making her way back home from school alone seeing as Yae was still with Esdeath on an assignment it was when Ei neared the penthouse she smelled smoke filling the air making her frown as she followed the trail towards the source of the smell she was shocked to find a house ablaze as Ei entered the house an eldery woman lay on the floor well she would guess what an eldery woman was seeing the small posture but the rest was completely scorched though she still felt a presence in the building as she pushed trough the flames as she eventually got to the source of the energy she felt she gasped as there in the middle of the room laid her kendo vice captain Enji. Ei's eyes widened at the sight of her friend burn marks covered her entire body but she was placed behind an blue barrier that radiated heat but the closer eye got to it she noticed it wasn't harming her. Wanting to save her friend she called the one person she knew could.

Alex stepped out of the circle where he felt Ei's power coming from and coughed as his nose filled with smoke "Ei what the hell are we doing here?" He asked her covering his mouth "save her please" Ei said with tears in her eyes as Alex noticed Enji he recognized the power as a sacred gear "who wouldve thought the blue dragon was Enji" Alex said as he took out two pawn piece he kneeled down next to Enji and placed the pawns on her chest as they sank in her a blue pulse shot trough the air and Enji let out a gasp as she started coughing "E..Ei?" She spoke weakly as Ei hugged the red haired girl into her chest "you're going to be okay i promise" Ei said into the other girl's hair "we need to leave the house is going to collapse" Alex said as a transition circle appeared underneath their feet taking them to the penthouse.

Back at the penthouse

Ei gently put Enji on the couch who looked around in confusement as she suddenly was in a different place at the same time Alex Ei and Enji appeared Esdeath and Yae returned "Enji-chan?" Yae asked confused as Alex motioned for Esdeath who nodded and whispered something to Yae "Iwill leave Yae to explain everything about us after that i will fill you in" Alex said as he grabbed the box Azzazel left him and took Ei and Esdeath with them as Mileen watch from the side in interest as to what was going on around her.
As alex entered his office he put the box in front of Ei "open it" he nudged her as she gently removed the lid she gasped as she pulled out the arm Azzazel had made Esdeath looked in wonder at the craftmanship. As she placed the arm against the stump a clicking noise went of as it latched itself onto the skin and to her suprise when she tried to move her fingers and flex her hand it actually responded like a normal hand "interesting it reacts to the nerves whilst not having a straight connection I have to say Azzazel outdid himself even with the design" Esdeath voiced her opinion as Alex nodded Ei was still in amazement as she finally had a hand back "Alex I don't know what to say" Ei spoke softly and suprised the older two devis by rushing to her king and hugging him tightly it took a moment for Alex to respond but he eventually put his hand on the back of her head and gently stroked her hair "now i think we left your new sister waiting long enough" Alex said as Ei wiped her eyes and nodded as she moved to the living room as Esdeath held her king back for a moment giving him a loving kiss
"Im proud of you" she said softly putting their foreheads together he just smiled "Everything for our little family" he said and with that he entered the living room seeing Yae Ei and Enji in a group hug "i would be correct that you guys told her everything?" He asked and the girls nodded "Well Enji its a pleasure to formally meet you as part of our little family, my name is Alexander Bael and i am the king of this household" Alex introduced himself "and i am his second and queen Esdeath if there is anything please dont hessitate to come to me" Esdeath introduced herself Enji stepped away from her friends and bowed "thank you for saving me Lord Bael" she spoke humbly and Alex shook his head "you're a friend of Yae and Ei it was no trouble" he reassured her "now i will be honest i was quite suprised to see you are the host of a special sacred gear that along with my queens falls among the 10 counter longinus that lucifer created when he still was an angel" Alex explained as Esdeath raised an eyebrow at this news sp did the other girls "now i want you to focus all your energy on the strongest part of your body" Alex explained Enji nodded as she closed her eyes a blue aura surrounded her as above chest a icy blue orb appeared with a black armor piece covering her chest and shoulders and half over her throat "Devour unlocked" a female voice called out with a slight hiss to it "what is this?" Enji asked as she looked down and felt the armor on her chest as it had a snake like scale pattern "i smell dragon" Mileen said as she peeked around the corner "indeed you do Mileen" Alex agreed as the other dragon girl went back to her room "now Enji could you explain what happend?" Alex asked as Enji looked downfallen she nodded "a man with blonde hair came to our house he admitted to being a devil and told me to join him grandmother used to be a shrine maiden so as soon as he revealed himself as a devil she told me to run and the last thing i saw of her was a lot of talisman flying in the air and i heard a cry of a bird when the house just started filling with smoke i heard bangs on the door but it didnt open i eventually passed out from the smoke and woke up when you appeared" enji explained as Esdeath and Alex looked at each other as they immediately recognized who Enji was describing "it seems we have a trip to hell coming soon" Alex spoke up to questioning glances of the younger girls "we are paying a visit to the Phenix family" Esdeath spoke
