chapter 18: Familiars

Inside the church.

As the group in the church tried to deal with Freed who only was being kept on defense much to the rogue priest's annoyance as he knew that just being hit once would mean the end for him "argggh enough already I can't die here" he hissed out as he pulled out a familiar flashbang Ei who knew what he was about to do tried to throw her spear at him but it was too late as the grenade hit the floor his laughter dissappeared into the air "damn it lord Alexander won't be happy" Ei cursed "its fine the most important thing is for us to push through and safe that nun" Enji spoke up as Ei nodded and the group of devils walked to the altar "Koneko the honors please" Ei asked and the rook nodded as she kicked the altar to the side revealing a staircase as the devils descended deeper in the lair.

As the group of devils entered the basement they were met with a legion of exorcists as behind them on a sacrificial altar a cross stood with the Nun bound to it as the fallen angel stood next to her "ASIA" Issei yelled out as the Nun looked up in pain "issei" she called out weakly as the fallen angel extracted a green orb from the girls chest as she fell forward lifeless making issei yell out in rage as the fallen brought the orb to her chest and two rings appeared on her fingers "ahh twilight healing with this lord Azzazel has to notice me now" Raynare sighed happily "Go ahead Issei we'll deal with the priests" Enji said cracking her knuckles as Ei summoned her spear and Akame took out Murasama "thanks you guys" Issei said as the group charged into the battle.

The battle between the excorsists and the devil group couldn't even be called close to fair as Ei and Akame decimated their enemies Enji had a smile on her face as she wielded a duo of blue gauntlets with a red orb and emitting blue fire that only left ashes in their wake. As Issei had his fight with Raynare who was suprised by his sudden power ups as Issei was overpowered Raynare he threw her trough the roof of the basement making her crash in the aisle upstairs as he tunnel visioned on taking revenge for Asia and for killing him he didn't notice that the others kept back from following him after they had dealt with the priests.

"Shouldn't we follow him?" Enji asked as she threw her last enemy away after she had crushed his skull
"Normally, I would say yes, but our king wants to use this opportunity for Issei to grow with his sacred gear," Kiba revealed as Ei nodded in understanding. As Akame sheated Murasama, she stood next to Ei as Enji joined them yawning as she stretched "so who's going to tell lord Alex that the priest escaped?" She mumbled before realizing what she just said as her peerage sisters froze as well they were screwed.

Back upstairs Raynare groaned as she spat out a glob of blood "how is a weakling like you with a twice critical so strong" she said with hatred "that's because it's not just a simple twice critical" a new authoritive voice rang out revealing Rias Gremory "president?" Issei asked in confusement "you see Issei here is the wielder of the longinus class: the boosted gear the hand of the red dragon" she revealed smirking at the fallen angel who looked on in horror "how! How does a pervert like him get his hands on the boosted gear!" She screamed out in disbelief "now seeing as you hurt my precious Issei, Die" Rias said with a cold voice powering a orb of destruction power in her hand getting ready to eradicate the fallen who had dared to hurt her pawn Raynare seeing her incoming doom started sweating before making a desperate attempt to save herself by trying to play onto Isseis feelings by pretending to be Yuuma who he had went on a date with. As Issei looked even more hurt he begged Rias to end it who nodded glaring even harder at the fallen angel before engulfing her in her magic power as the only thing left behind were the rings she had stolen from the Nun.

"How about we return these?" Rias asked with a gentle smile as the rest of the group had joined them upstairs surrounding the other devils as they watched Issei held onto the body of Asia as Rias gently put the sacred gear back into her along with a bishop piece reviving the girl into her peerage. As the light of revival died down the Asia gasped for air, looking around in confusement as her eyes landed on Issei they widened in recognition. "Issei?" She asked hopefully as he nodded.
