Chapter 4: The Soul of a Shogun

Inside the kitchen Ei Alex and Esdeath were sitting at the table eating a Hokkaido specialty of ramen "so why were those devils after you Ei?" Alex after he swallowed a bite "they bothered me and my friend when we were enjoying the festival they cornered us and i held them back whilst allowing my friend to escape and after that they chased after me" Ei explained as Alex nodded Esdeath spat obviously pissed at the devils as Ei rubbed at her new stump that was wrapped in bandages "im sorry i wasnt able to save your hand or react in time" Alexander apologized but Ei shook her head "it's not your fault i shoulve dodged it" she countered and the trio continued their dinner in silence.

Esdeath was clearing the table and washing the plates Alex took Ei to their bathroom so the girl could relax and clean herself before changing in fresh cloathes.
"So what do you think?" Alex asked his Queen after he joined her in the kitchen again "she has potential and there is a enormous amount of lighting energy stored inside of her" Esdeath analyzed "so you think she's a good fit?" Alex asked and Esdeath looked at him knowing where he was hinting to "yes she would be perfect for that if she agrees" Esdeath eventually acknowledged. With that conversation done he helped his girlfriend with the dishes as both just enjoyed each other's company until their guest returned.

It was almost an hour later when Ei returned but now she was wearing a purple tanktop with some jeans and traditional Japanese sandals she looked healthier after the bath she bowed before them "thank you for everything you have done for me today" she said sincerely as Esdeath merely pet the girls head "its our pleasure dear" she spoke softly removing her hand so the girl could stand up "take a seat" Alex said gesturing to one of the chairs and couches in their living room. After ei took her seat Alex took the chair opposite of her as Esdeath took her place behind him normally she would sit next to him but this was a formal part they were about to do. "Listen you clearly know about the supernatural and I'm sure you already have a certain feeling towards devils" Alex began to wich Ei nodded frowning as he took out a chess piece set and put it on the table between them "but i have a proposition for you" he said taking out a glowing knight piece and putting it infront of the box "you have great potential and i wish for you to join me" he said as Ei narrowed her eyes at him "i appreciate the compliment and the honesty but what could i get from basically giving up my freedom to join you" she shot back "first of i will never take your freedom from you the moment i do is the moment Esdeath here cuts my head off" he immediately retaliated as this shocked Ei she clearly wasn't expecting his passionate response "secondly i would give you protection and it would also greatly increase your lifespan Esdeath here sees a lot of great in you and is confident she can shape you up into a great fighter even with that" he said the last part pointing at her stump "say i do say yes could you actually do all you just said or are you just trying to sweet talk me" she asked as she glared at him this time it was Esdeath who spoke up "I Have known Alexander for about 5 years now darling he'll do anything to keep his promise" she told the girl with a soft smile as she kissed Alex on the cheek "Esdeath here is my queen and 2nd in command i promise you we will look after you" he said leaning forward as Ei picked up the chess piece she looked at it for a moment before looking back at Alexander her eyes burning with fierce determination "very well i accept" she said as Alex nodded with a grin he stood up and took guided her hand with the chess piece towards her chest "keep it against you" he told her and she nodded "I Alexander Bael hereby recruit you Ei into my peerage and family, do you accept?" He asked and she nodded as the piece began to sink into her "then be reborn as my knight live your life in my name and fight until you can't fight anymore" he finished off as Ei surged with energy she started glowing purple as an purple eye made out of electricity appeared behind her for a moment before it shut again releasing a power surge as the apartment went black for a moment before the light went on again as in front of Ei was her spear only this time it was crackling with energy "well this is interesting" Alex said as the trio looked at the spear before Ei reached out and suddenly the world around them turned purple before turning normal well not entirely normal as they now were in a different dimension.
