Cameron trudged through the school corridors, her once lively eyes now dulled by the heavy burden of sleep deprivation, evident in the prominent bags beneath them. The previous night had been consumed by a relentless quest to locate her elusive phone, cunningly concealed by her parents. As she dragged herself forward, she absently rubbed her weary eyes, oblivious to her surroundings, until a sudden collision jolted her back to reality.

Blinking groggily, Cameron found herself face to face with Ryan, his expression a mixture of irritation and disdain as he swiftly turned away, rolling his eyes in exasperation. "What's your problem, Ryan?" she called after him, her voice tinged with irritation as she observed his retreating figure, a reflexive scoff escaping her lips.

Before she could dwell further on the encounter, a sudden touch on her shoulder elicited a startled shriek, drawing curious glances from nearby students. Whirling around, Cameron was relieved to find Arabella and Luna, their mischievous grins betraying their playful intent. "You two can't sneak up on me like that!" she exclaimed, a mixture of laughter and relief bubbling up as she placed a hand over her racing heart, grateful for their unexpected company.

Cameron chuckled softly, a weary smile tugging at the corners of her lips as she ran her fingers through her tousled hair. "Yeah, I guess you do," Arabella admitted. Casting a cautious glance around, Cameron leaned in closer to Arabella and Luna, her voice lowered to a conspiratorial whisper. "You wouldn't believe what happened last night. My parents decided to pull some sort of punishment stunt and hid my phone on me. I swear, I turned the whole house upside down trying to find it."

Arabella and Luna exchanged sympathetic looks, their understanding evident as they empathized with Cameron's predicament. "That's rough," Arabella sympathized, her expression mirroring Cameron's frustration.

Luna, ever the problem solver, furrowed her brow in thought. "Have you tried calling it?" she suggested, her tone laced with concern.

Cameron shook her head, a sigh escaping her lips. "They probably turned it off or something. Ugh, I just hope I find it soon. I can't go another day without it," she lamented, her dependence on her phone palpable in her words.

Cameron started to stroll away, her invitation for Arabella and Luna to join her hanging in the air. "Walk with me. Tell me what happened at the Halloween dance!" she exclaimed eagerly, prompting her friends to exchange a knowing glance before falling into step on either side of her.

"Yeah, you missed... a lot," Arabella chimed in, her voice carrying a hint of intrigue as Cameron furrowed her brows in curiosity.
