Cameron stepped out of the Cobra Kai dojo's bathroom, her feet dragging slightly as she wiped the sleep from her eyes. The morning chill hit her face as she walked toward the back of the dojo. Robby was already awake, sitting cross-legged on the floor in the far corner, his sleeping bag spread out behind him. He was rolling it up with a methodical, almost meditative precision, his movements smooth but relaxed, the typical Robby way of doing things.
"Good morning, Cam," he greeted her, his voice rough from just waking up, but his usual warmth still present. His tired eyes lifted to meet hers as he paused in his task.
"Morning, Robby," Cameron replied with a tired smile. She walked over to him, shaking her head a little as she tried to wake up. "I can't believe we're back at it again today."
She was about to say something else when her phone rang, interrupting her thoughts. She pulled it out of her pocket, frowning when she saw her little brother Anthony's name flash on the screen.
"Hold on," she said to Robby, before swiping the screen and answering the call.
"Hey, Anthony," Cameron greeted him, her voice softening. She could hear a slight sense of urgency in his tone, and immediately knew something was off.
"Cam... I need your help," Anthony's voice crackled through, a mixture of frustration and embarrassment seeping into his words. "I may have gotten into a food fight at school... and now I've been suspended for a day. I need you to talk to Mrs. Hart. She loved you when you were in middle school... Maybe she'll listen to you."
Cameron's brow furrowed at the mention of a food fight. A food fight? Really? She couldn't help but sigh heavily, rubbing a hand over her face. She knew her younger brother could be impulsive, but this? This was a whole new level of chaos. Still, Mrs. Hart had always been soft on her back in middle school. If anyone had a chance of getting Anthony out of trouble, it was her.
"Okay, I'll handle it," Cameron said, cutting him off before he could keep pleading. She didn't want to hear him beg. "But seriously, Anthony, this is the last time, you hear me?"
"Thanks, Cam. You're the best," Anthony said, sounding genuinely relieved.
She hung up the phone and let out a deep breath, turning back to Robby, who was watching her intently, now leaning against the wall. He'd been quiet through the whole call, but his curious gaze was now fully on her.
"What's going on?" Robby asked, raising an eyebrow as he set down his rolled-up sleeping bag, his hands resting on his hips. "That sounded serious."
Cameron ran a hand through her hair and let out another sigh. "Anthony got suspended. Apparently, he got into a food fight at school. He wants me to talk to Mrs. Hart to get him out of trouble. She used to like me when I was in middle school, so I'm the best shot he has."
