Soon I will no longer live in that house.
I will lock the door one last time.

All the memories we made
Will echo through the empty rooms.

Marks on the walls
Will whisper our stories.

We will never dance in that kitchen again.
We will never make our bed together again.
You will never linger at the door
Trying to stay a second more.

I know everything changes.
It's the natural order.
But I thought if I stayed there a little longer
I might hear your familiar knock
At least once more.
