Living in the districts you don't really have much to look forward too. We all live our lives working towards supplying the capital, and keeping our families afloat.

There is one thing though that I look forward too every so often. The aurora borealis. Most often known as the northern lights. Which I happened to have stumbled upon by accident one day late after work.

During the earlier months this year, March to be specific, I had be scheduled a shift in the lumberyard alongside Treech. The boy I happen to have been pining after, and still am. I was kinda flustered throughout the day, and when our shift ended I was too distracted by Treechs presence by my side to notice I had forgotten my axe.

When I had got home, and was about to go to bed before I realized it was gone. One might think that this is no big deal, and that I could just get it in the morning. But that is not the case. You loose your axe, and somebody else fins it then it's not your axe anymore.

despite not living in the poorest of districts, I can't just buy a new axe. I also don't want to risk it not being there in the morning, so I had to get it then.

So that night I got out of bed and snuck into the yard to find my axe. I had been working in one of the parts of the yard that are close to the edge of the district.  So when I had found my axe I noticed how close I was to the edge of the district I thought it would be a smart idea to see what exactly is there.

Turns out it was a smart idea, cause when I was like a mile away for the fence lining the edge of the district I found the second most breathtaking sight I had ever seen. The first being Treech. I found this cliff with a view of the slopes in the mountains. The sky was filled ribbons of different colors.

Green, blue, pink, and purple hues of light floated throughout the night sky. I had never seen anything like it before. I had never seen so much color. I had also never gotten a clear view of the sky in this direction before.

In my area of the district we didn't have any open views of the sky like this due to the large amount of trees. I mean we can see the sky depending on where you are, but the trees are still to tall to be able to see something like that.

So that night I probably sat at the edge of the cliff for hours. It wasn't until I noticed the sun begin to rise that I realized that I needed to rush home before people started working for the day. Luckily when I got home nobody had caught me, and I was able to sleep a bit before starting the daily tasks. Also don't worry I didn't leave my axe behind.

It's now November and I have gone to see the lights a few times. After seeing them the first time I found out that they are visible late August all the way through mid April (thanks google). During the period of time of November through February they are the most visible. So I plan going to visit them tonight since I haven't gone out to my spot since they started to be viewable again.

This time though I am building up the courage to ask Treech to go with me. Hopefully he isn't a nark though. Going past the edge of the district is very much so frowned upon, and I don't want to get in trouble. But it sounds so fun.

I have had my eyes on him for while, and we are pretty good friends since we work together quite often. So I might as well invite him to do something with me. Even if that something is technically illegal, but I won't tell him that. Yet.

When I get to work that afternoon I can see him in our assigned area of the forest, and I send him a smile before saying "Hello Treech".

"Hello there peach" he responds with a handsome smile "how are you on this fine day?".
